Was looking for a good dyn EQ. Have to check it out for that.

But as far as equalizing the most audible frequencies, I don't usually EQ like that, I EQ based on how a sound sits relative to other sounds, it is completely conditional. But still could easily be helpful in some utilitarian or experimental/creative sense I suppose.

I'd ignore that 70 engineer bit. That has nothing to do with the songs I'm working on right now.

Sound Magic should at least hire a GUI designer who'd take care of their plugins artworks which are currently terrible enough to drop the real value of the code behind them even if they have gone for testing eq tactics of 7o MEs.

GIU looks good to me. No frills, No BS. Actually when I saw the GUI I took it a bit more seriously after the "advertising" stuff had almost turned me off.

Neo eq looks cool!

I tried the demo and it does what it advertises... its actually quite good at it

so if you are inexperienced mixer and just want quick results, $49 is not overpriced

if you are experienced and can find frequencies yourself and need more control, then yes it is overpriced.. as is probably a lot of EQs out there compared to good free stuff available like variety of sound and sir elliot.


and maybe you think NEO Eq looks cool, but I doubt it would stand up against plugin designs like stillwell, variety of sound, uad, or fabfilter..

Not at ~$50, it shouldn't sound like those other plug-ins.

Free seems too cheap, more appropriate for a basic EQ that's along the likes of your built in EQ.

$30 is around the price of entry level EQ maybe with a decent quality HP/LP

This is at $50, with the "new" tech and features that might be of use to someone. I can think of creative use of this in a modular buss effect situation.

$70 and up is appraoching the likes of the quality EQs.

I think it's about right. It's the value they determine for their work. We would not want someone coming in and telling us what our music would be worth, if you like it buy it, if not, move on.

The website states; "Another key feature that Neo MasteringQ provides is that you can analyze a piece of audio first, then hold the frequency characteristics of it and apply that setting to other audio tracks. In this way, you can clone a static EQ setting from one audio track to another easily."

This is something I know and like from MeldaProduction MAutoEqualizer and MAutoDynamic EQ. I also read that a stock EQ in Logic does this.

But for the rest; I like it when new technologies are developed and who knows who can benefit from it. The sound of the plugin and the overal tools is important also.
Maybe will check it out allthough I'm completely happy with the MeldaProduction MAutoDynamicEQ that fullfills a lot of duties.
