The high-frequency limiter helped me de-ess the vocal on a 2 track pre-master without screwing up the sound of the track.

And I'm talking horrible digital-distortion sibilence that made the track almost unlistenable

Yes, no AU yet. I'm thinking of it and I have plans to make it. But first, I want to do AU for Molot compressor. Also I don't own Mac and don't like it. :-) So you see my problems :-)

I feel strange too. I'm not musician/audio engineer/producer and I have no DSP education at all. (I'm working in IT stuff, btw). It all shows us there're some problems in modern audio industry... Just kidding :-) It works fine and it's free! No black magic. Use it for your pleasure! :-)

one word: Thank you so much for these two babies. Heard about them before, haven't had the chance to give them a try and right now just downloaded both and fire up the Limiter and (although still beta), this baby sound absolutely stunning.

Edit: just put this baby on the master main out and all the options parameters of this Limiter is Superb. Great layout and feature. Love the #Protection section. Yummy you can really crank this baby and still get that amazing glue and pump and all stays clear and clean. Alright, I stop now, too excited!

Did a quick shootout on a four track EP I'm mastering. Amazing, this baby is louder AND cleaner than Slate FG-X!

Thats interesting when you are no musician/audio engineer/producer what was your motivation to make such unbelieveable stuff like molot? (No6 hasn´t been tested but I´m sure it is also great)

It goes really, really loud without messing the signal. Nice one. Have to play a little bit more.

(I'm starting to become allergic, to mainly read about how "loud" a limiter can make things as the only thing to be mentioned...)

I think it's a great, transparent "sounding" plugin with so many combinations to choose from.

Another fantastic and fun to use tool by Vlad, which once again deserves my donation!

Using it on a mastering session and it stomped on everything else I have as far as transparent limiting is concerned. VERY impressed. Soooooo, any chance at an EQ?

I've found that the first stage of Limiter6 can be used all by itself (with the rest of the plug disabled) as a leveler.

Try putting it just ahead of a compressor plugin to keep compression in the "sweet spot".

Why no threshold on the compressorpart och the limiter?
Like it was on the first model?
The lookahead seem to have disapeard to.

Another thing ive been thinking about, is when you load the limiter, its not hitting 0db, but rather its a few db:s under with its own cealing. So that in order to get the peaks to o, i have to raise the output volyme, instead of as an ordinary limiter raise the volymen towards the cealing, and then set the cealing to where i want it.
How is this really working?

Just for, being one that said it can go really load and still clean.
Doesnt mean that im using it to beat metallica. :D
But it does show how clean it is when you push it, so my assumtion is that it is insanely clean on more apropriate levels. Me, im hating the loadness war as much as the next guy.

Wow what have you compared it to?

On this track the contenders were the Sonnox limiter, T-Racks and the UAD limiter. Simply no contest. Granted, this has a bunch of stuff that allowed me more freedom but it's FREE!!! Very, VERY good.

Ok thanks. I have Voxengo's Elephant so will be doing some A/B'ing between these. Also interested to hear how it compares to Fabfilters Pro-L?

I was going to.. Actually I had the time to open a mix I mastered
some days ago using Pro-L, copied the track and swapped Pro-L
with Limiter6 and after only 5 minutes I could get it at the same
RMS but transient preservation appeared to be noticeably better,
the snare was way less "splat" sounding, kick and bass freq in general
handled much better (I wasn't using the comp, limiter in multiband mode, a bit of HF limit and a touch of clipper hitting just some snare hits).
From there pushing it a bit more was a breeze.
Really really impressed and I didn't even know the thing yet.

Unfortunately after 5 min it crashed Pro Tools :/
I really wish this one was available as RTAS because
it seems a beast
