Downloading now!!

Already use IK 670, Opto and Classic compressors + Stillwells The Rocket and Bombardier. Intrigued to see how well Molot stacks up to these!!

Because it doesn't have some cool brand name stamped on GUI, lack of marketing machinery and it does not cost 400$. So people think it's not worth it.

I agree it is one of best compressors i've ever heard ITB. Not for everything but very high quality and with amazing sound. Sheer awesomeness. I've heard, had and while ago sold UAD Fairchild, IK Fairchild etc. This kill them all in my opinion. Not the same thing but there you go. For free you have amazing compressor.

Worth to make donation to author.

Well that's how most spoiled western world humans work. mpod is right and this thread would already be 79 pages long,
if there was a ------- brand on it and a intro price of 249$ (later 399$).

I've been doing some rough mixes on a new project and I've got this compressor all over the place. It is one of the best ITB compressors I've ever heard.

It's not for everything, but great for lending some smack and authority to drum busses and I even have it across the master buss. A few db of GR goes a long way on this thing.

I'm still waiting to figure out what the catch is.

(I keep waiting for some pop-up nag, or adware thingy or something...)

I mean this thing actually sounds like a real compressor!

...No, its not for everything, but hell -- What compressor IS?

Yes I've had a very quick play and my initial impression is this is a fantastic compressor but it doesn't replace my IK and Stillwell compressors.
Molot has it's own sound which is lovely and will be a keeper in my collection.
Will do some more in depth comparisons when I get the chance!

I've just downloaded the Molot. I don't want to highjack the thread, but there's one problem. It's probably very simple for you guys. Where do I find the plug-in in Pro-Tools?? It's not in the plugin list inside a session and I've put the Molot.dll file in the VSTPlugIns.

I don't really get the limiter? Nothing happens when move the limiter-pot??? There is a little lamp as well? Is that supposed to light up?

I am using it days ago, his sound is spectacular, great sound and analysis, a fantastic work, is a very good compressor, so many sigma and alpha, congratulations!

Your input signal is too low then. AFAIK the dev will include a input drive with the next update...

The limiter has an obvious sound. Can't compare it too a digi brickwall limiter. It does something great for certain sources.

Yeah it will engage when you have a proper gain staging, if the limiter is not working means the signal you're running into the comp ain't hot enough.
The limiter sounds great I'll add, good feature on top of an already very good comp.
No need for an input pot for me, just put a FreeG before it and you're done
As a future update I'd love some slightly clearer writings, I mean is not a big deal, but.. Altho' please keep the military style gui,
never change that, it's awesome :D

This compressor is great! To me it "opens" up the sound in an aggressive way. Great for drums!

Havent tried it on vocals but i like the color of it

I was nearly ready to release, and then figured out that the technology I used is not compatible with 10.5.
So, need to rework it a bit.

For the ones that found the original GUI too dark, PC and MAC VST versions have an updated GUI

The more I use this compressor the more I like it, the new "brighter" gui is great.
I don't really think the old one is "dark" more like I keep my computer screens very low brightness due to the fact that I spend lotsa time on them, mostly with the lights off in the room (aside from the ones coming from the racks heh ) and well.. yeah, the brighter gui makes it easier

Great! Actually I did the enhancement on this for my personal use, since the old one was too dark for me aswell so
I thought I'd show it to Vlad (the dev) and he liked it, so....

I also just compiled the Mac VST.dmg file for it. Should be on his server in a bit I guess.
I have no clue what's happening with the AU version regarding a GUI but seems it'll be ready soon too.

Weeks have passed and this thing is still my favorite compressor. Good sign. Winner!

I find the meter/VU to be spot on!! Is there any info how it is calibrated?
Just an idea, would the developer consider releasing it as a standalone VU meter?. I'd love to use it across the mixer.

Hate to be a party crasher but am I the only one feeling this sounds pretty bad at higher GR settings?

at high gain reductions and with faster release the sound is really phasing?

Now I've only worked with the UAD 33609 and waves puigchild. But they don't behave at all like this
