Will Protransport be mackie control protocol compatible so I can use it with Nuendo? And if so, when?

Yes it will be very soon, in the next release- HOWEVER: we don't support Windows currently.

Any chance of a timescale when ProRemote will be released with the update that fully includes Logic suport?

I have a 10 minute demo and I'll be showing the new version of ProRemote, the one that "officially" supports Logic, Ableton Live, Soundtrack Pro and ProTools 8.

The code is in beta now and should be out soon. If anyone has a copy of Cubase or DP to donate, I will give you a free copy of ProRemote in return.

Alex -- hope you are feeling better, I look forward to seeing this at the apple store. Do you need a copy of DP or Cubase just for this or would you need it permanently? What versions?

I'm looking for the latest versions of DP and Cubase for the Mac. I only need to use them for about a few weeks each so that I can add support for them- not related to the demo at all!

Mackie: MCU Pro

The new version that supports the Mackie Control protocol is out.
Please be sure to update your ProRemoteServer as well.

This version adds support for the following:
- Apple Logic
- Ableton Live
- Apple Soundtrack Pro
- ProTools 8

UI skins have been added for all those apps except Soundtrack Pro as their Mackie support is weak.

A free demo version should be out once Apple approves it. The update is available now.

Apple rejected my demo version. Here is the full text of their email:

Hello Far Out Labs LLC,

ProRemote Demo cannot be posted to the App Store at this time.

1. ProRemote Demo cannot be posted because it is a demo version. Any reference to demo or beta needs to be removed from the binary and metadata. Free or "Lite" versions are acceptable, however the application must be a fully functional app and cannot reference features that are not implemented.

In addition, the application cannot be time-limited, as demonstrated by the screen shot enclosed.

2. When network configurations and server control processes are not pre-set in the desktop application's Preference Panel, and the "Other" button is selected in ProRemote Demo, the user is not notified that a network connection is required.

Please take a look at the Reachability iPhone program sample which demonstrates the use of the System Configuration Reachability API to detect the absence of WiFi and Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) services. Your application can then take appropriate action at the first point where network services are required.

I see logic is now "officially" supported in the product description in the app store.

Anyone using the current version with logic? Any feedback on how it works? I'm still in logic 7, but feedback from 8 users would be helpful as well.

I'm working alone in a large studio, so this app could be well worth the money if it's smooth.

I have the "lite" version which is still $36. It works well with Logic. No complaints other than the price/limitations. $100 is too much for the full version. 8 track limit is lame for the $35 version.

To me $19.99 for the full version is about right. And everyone with Logic/PT would get it.

If I can get a Peterson Strobe Tuner on my iPhone for $9.99 then I *might* spend $19.99 for the full version of ProRemote.
