say what u want about waves. their ssl, v series, api are some of the best plugins to date. I will grab these new ones too.

If I buy this new Waves bundle, I will not need any more UAD cards in my computer. I have an older computer and a new one will not fit the old UAD cards. This is great!

but question is why arent of these nice plugs compatible with thier dsp units ???

is it just me, or does the vid clip audio seem to require some x-hum...

no need for a dsp unit when ppl have quads and dual quad cpu's..

i find myself using the v-series more and more. i like the api's on certain things and i use the ssl plugins on certain things... i'll have to demo the plugs befor getting them but i think i'll get um

Seems like Waves is taking the advantage of UA being so late with their nonexistent uad2. heh

First I got the excellent API bundle for free and now this? I am sooo happy I went mercury a year ago :-) Let's hope they are as good as the other vintage gear emulations from Waves of late.

don't we have these plugs already in protools from Bombfactory???

How much are these plugins? I didn't see a price anywhere....

Not everybody is using Protools..

Yeah too bad that the BF Pultec sux, big time.

I really look forward to try them, the comparison with UAD and BF won't be late I'm sure, and I'm even curious, seeing that no plugin ever gone even close to Fairchild and Pultec. None. Uad or not

But I really hope the "is not like the hardware" thing won't happen again 'cause is getting old. If they sound good, that's all we ask.

I suppose they'll try to make an 1176, then almost get sued, then sell it...

Very curious as to what the latency times are using the Native (RTAS) versions in PTLE, as well as their CPU load. Wonder if they're about the same as the Waves SSL plugs?

I've been hoping Waves would come out with a good Pultec plug. I wasn't too impressed with the Bomb Factory or URS versions. And until UA comes out with a modern/updated card, I pretty much refuse to go down the UAD path.

I wonder if Waves will ever manage to do a good 1176 and/or LA2A plug............or have they already done one?

Well, I have been mulling over getting a Uad card just for the pultec and the fairchild.

This could change things. Although I need to find the money first!

But once they did even those I wonder if Waves (and other companies too) will come up with something new (and good sounding) instead of digitalize old gear.
Although, I'd lllllove a Distressor plugin or a squeezebox

I guess this kinda scares UAD. There seems to be a trend going on with people going to 100% native, or am I wrong? I seem to have read this a lot lately. This is surely good news for those people.

I'm still hoping for a proper Waves tape emu. I hope that's their next thing.

I'm almost an hour in trying to get the demo of this authorized. Boy, Waves sure does make it needlessly confusing. These b*tches better sound damn good!

CPU get faster every week, so there is no reason to limit yourself to dsp-powered boxes/cards..

the only sence in dsp-boxes is the "dongle-function" heh

In the beginning was ProTools and Bomb Factory with all the best GUI, all the old gear on your screen. And that has been a big plus for PT, (c'mon everybody wants a 1176 on the screen!). And everybody saw "old gear on the screen" was good.

Then UAD came to give the possibility to have the old gear without ProTools (and to have a similar system, you know to free your cpu from the burden).

Today Waves gives us the digitalized old gear without even bother with the PCIe card

And for the DSP, well, today machines are already so powerful, and they get more and more really fast, I don't think anybody (or I hope so) buy DSP for the power, but for the quality of the plugins..
