I am announcing the release of WT-3D polyphonic synthesizer for tablets running Android.

Description:

Sur-audio lab WT-3D is a 16-voices polyphonic synthesizer module for Android.

It features an advanced wavetable oscillator with powerful "morph" function.
The waveforms are raw and add a retro touch to the overall sound and also allow for some digital fx noises.

Unison voice allocation, layers multiple voices on each key press.


Specifications:

• 1 wavetable synthesis oscillator with 13 morph targets and 64 shapes per target.
• Unison ( up to 16 voices per note ) with unison spread
• 1 ADSR envelope
• 1 Pitch LFO
• Real-time oscilloscope
• 3 octaves on-screen piano keyboard
• Preset list with 128 slots.
• USB midi ( limited implementation * )
• The device works without access to the internet ( offline )

* When receiving USB-MIDI WT-3D implements only note-on/off messages.
Pitch bend and Program change messages. All other midi messages are ignored.

WT-3D does not transmit midi and cannot be used as a midi controller.

I have updated the device.

Added midi controllers 1-10 to panel potentiometers.

Responds to program changes, pitch bend.

I am also a developer for scope dsp system. I regularly post at planetz forums with the same nick name.

Wt-3d can be used in your couch for some entertainment and relax but also as a professional generator with unique morph wavetable oscillator with unison capability.

I think having android tablets as sound generators is very nice because I can process the output with my analog chain and then record and its the best approach.

The price is introductory right now, it is going to cost more in the future.

Currently I am designing Sur-audio lab SAL modular for Android tablets.

The wavetable morphing and unison features sound like they'd open up a lot of creative possibilities. Are there any plans to expand MIDI support in future updates? It would be great to see things like velocity sensitivity or CC modulation. Also, does it support external MIDI keyboards via USB OTG?

I have added midi controllers 1-10 to panel potentiometers.

It also responds to pitch bend and program change messages.

The device needs some fine tailoring but I also like to keep the interface uncluttered and the functionality straight forward so someone can use it without having to worry about many things. Yes velocity sensitivity should be included.
Other things I have in mind:

pitch fine tuning
14bit midi for the morph pot.
USB OTG for external midi keyboards.
audio output options
I am not sure about midi 2.0.

In general for me the developer the device is quite capable right now, produces timbres I like and can be used stand alone or via USB midi to control it from your daw. A midi keyboard can be connected through the daw too.
The ability to directly connect a keyboard via USB OTG should get included because it feels natural.

But as a developer I have a preference for clear displays and not too much functionality fitted in everything. I like to leave some brain cycles for other things otherwise the whole process becomes tiring.
So while I'll add some things that seem to be useful I am not going to make it complicated because it will lose in accessibility and clarity
