13.41 USD to "update" via WUP. Wait for a 25% sale I think?

Already paid for WUP once to get resizability. Not happy that I might have to pay again to get what seems to be an update that could be worth it...

What's it cost for those with version 1?

I couldn't find that info either, just downloaded Waves Central to check and it looks like it's a free update. I do have the v14 version, though.

Seems to be a free update. Looks like Waves did the right thing here. Not that there are many new features anyway, certainly nothing that would have been worth paying for really if you already have the first version.

Free to me. It sees a good bit of my VST3 plugins but not all.

VST3 of this is now broken for me.

If you're currently on V14 with your WUP active, it should be free.

Have we collectively forgiven Waves yet? I mean, the OmniChannel was always nice, but I've not used a Waves plugin in months and personally mean to keep that streak going. Their licensing policy was always stupid and anti-consumer (one PC at a time unless you WUP) but then trying to pull the rug out from customers by going sub-only then backtracking really doesn't have me excited to try this like I otherwise would have been.

What do you mean broken? Also does it use the same exact VST3 name as the previous one?

Scanned VST3 about half way and crashed. Then couldn’t get it to scan the rest so reset cache. Now won’t scan anything. All started to remind of the time I had with Cosmos. Deleted…

How many channel strips do you have that can insert VST3 plugins anywhere in the chain?

I've always liked how you can use "ctrl" when moving the eq & desser faders to only hear that frequency.

Here too. I installed the update (I already had Omni 1 at v14) and Reaper did not throw up any scan errors so I tried to load it up and the VST2 works, and is named v2 (it eliminated the original VST2 so only v2 is available). But the VST3 versions are named as they previously were, but fail to load anything at all (Reaper's 'could not be loaded... configuration is preserved' message is presented instead). Tried re-scans, and reinstalls, but no joy. So I guess I'll use it as a VST2 while we wait for a fix on this, or someone discovers a workaround. Waves does seem to have a bit of a pattern of insufficiently-tested releases... however, the VST2 version seems good!

See my reply above for clarification (not sure if it's the same issue as LPTeleStrat but there seems a reasonable chance).

It replaced the VST2 with a new name and a new (apparently backwards compatible) plugin version, but the VST3 name is as it was previously. However, nothing loads at all.

omni is imo the best channel strip ive ever owned

Guess I'll hold off on getting the new version then.

It seems it is the standard sale price of $29 when i look on the website .. i already own v12 and it does tell me -"i already own this product " when it goes in my cart- but in waves central it doesn't show as an update at all.

On Mac M1 I need to uninstall EVERY Waves stuff in the computer before reinstalling anything or the VST3 will not scan. Everthing means going into preferences and everywhre, Cache included, and manually remove everything everytime. Also I noted that the AU version of API 2500 doesn’t works properly, the meters doesn’t move and the behavior is off. True analogue emulation of a broken machine I guess…

Does anyone knows more about that? I can’t belive that a company like Waves does that.

If on v12 then you would need valid WUP to update to v14, because the new version (Omni2) is only available as v14. In other words, you have the old version of the plugin; if you buy the WUP for it, you will be able to upgrade to the newest version. Those of us who already had the v14 version get it 'for free' (meaning we either bought it recently enough, or already paid the WUP - so not really free).

So you don't need to buy the product again, just the WUP, which should be $13 or so. Not so bad really (the v14 already had a few updates, like resizing, hi-res graphics and preset management) unless you are a confirmed WUP-hater.

same here. it means your plugin is not under an active WUP, and it costs about $13 (like someone else mentioned) to activate for a single plugin to be able to upgrade it.

So, when I first ran it, it didn't update. I'm on version 14.
I own the Omni Channel version 1 as well within that version 14.
So, I went on the site, and there is nothing that says it will be free but, on the email, it does say it. So, I re-ran the Waves App again and this time, it took. Got the plugin free. The funny thing, they sent me an email saying I could get it for $29.99 instead of $49.99.
So be careful, they don't have their updating system working correctly.
There were other plugins upgraded too but, I didn't pay attention to them, sorry.

Yeah I was feeling in survival mode when decided to cut off Waves months ago. It all went smoothly and I have found less resistance from collaborators than I was thinking.
