Steven, thank you for not making Steven's room way louder than all the other rooms anymore

Ha, credit to my guy Alex who did the level matching. He's great.

Also, holy hell. This sounds excellent. Noticeable improvement everywhere, to my ears. I was really having trouble with your room after the last update and it's pretty bangin' now. And Dean's NS-10's are killer.
Yes, 24 can disengage that M band, and thanks so much for the great feedback!

But also: let me thank you from the bottom of my heart, Steven! Nothing helped me getting better mixes during my more than 20 year music making career, than VSX. What you achieved with this nothing short but astonishing.
You're so very welcome on behalf of my insanely talented and hard working team! Make some killer mixes!

Yess! The 3.03 is live and everything sounds great. I'm hearing subtle improvements everywhere. Corrections made to Mike's NS-10's and Sonoma ProAc's as promised. Not sure if any changes were made to Mike's Mains but the Tannoy's w subs are honestly indispensable. Archon Mids sound just as flat as v2 but with more detailed transients and room tone. Stevens PMC's have their punch back. Howie's engineer sounds a little more focused. Zuma Mids sound better from 3.0, more detailed in the high-mids and up, definitely brighter and not as muddy but still relatively flat and not hyped. I do feel like you get more room tone and resonance in the Adam's than the ATC's in Zuma which doesn't make the speakers sound closer to you necessarily. Maybe some slight tweaks to make the spacial illusion more prominent could be an improvement.
In all, 3.03 delivers in every which way and I'm extremely satisfied as a VSX enthusiast. Thanks again Slate team. We appreciate all your hard work.
Means the world to me. Thank you!

Amazing update I agree. First time I've really fully been in the illusion of being in a car, or in front of PMCs (I have to close my eyes so I don't look at my shitty room). So glad I bought these headphones.
I'm so glad as well!

Splendid!
Ooooh which DT songs? Lot of great DT mixes that will sound amazing on the virtual speakers.

I think I favour Howie Weinberg Mastering studio at this moment but all the rooms are being improved massively. They all sound so good, I feel like a kid in a candy shop! :D
Howie Engineer is so plain and honest now. A true mastering speaker.

Now, when sound has reached desired quality, could we hope for MIDI switchable presets?

There are workarounds, I keep four instances of VSX in Cubase's control room and switch between them using controller, but that's definitely not the best way to switch presets.
BTW, since 3.0 I keep Cubase opened almost all time just to listen Spotify through VSX. Zuma Fars replaced Archon Mids which I've been using for the last year.
YES! Now that the ole "sound" thing is on par to where it has been in my head, it's time for utility stuff! We're working on it!

Update sounds INCREDIBLE!! So happy with VSX now. I'm in awe! It's amazing to be alive in a time of such technological progress!
Just curious, did you include the 2.0 legacy mode for this update? Thought I read that somewhere.. Just curious to do some A/B testing, that's all. Amazing update, again!
No 2.0 legacy. We were gonna wait to see if it was still needed after this update. Still possible of course.

Amazing update, Steven and team. Beyond useful. I do hear a couple of oddities though. Just using a microphone and saying "TEST" (in an extremely dry room) I hear:
1. A very audible and distinct echo on the Zuma mids. Not a decay, but more like a delay. The Zuma mains also have a very long decay (does the room actually sound like that?) but do not have the distinct echo like the mids.
2. On the Archon mains I hear a distinct resonant "honk" around 280hz.
Both of these things are barely audible (to me anyway) when listening to music but become apparent using spoken word on a mic. Does anyone else hear this stuff, or is it just me??
Thanks everyone for checking this out.
Regards.
Thanks! Gonna look into both of those things. I'm hearing the Farfields as what I would expect a farfield to sound like. The RT60 on them was not exactly super tight on the lows but it was exciting sounding. EDIT: Please make sure that you are definitely on 3.03 because there was a slight resonance that was fixed in the previous version. This one is super tight now actually.
For midfield delay, I'll check again.. maybe I missed a bug. But it's an easy fix.

Steven, I just wanted to drop in to say that this new update sounds KILLER! Iโve been on board and have loved the product (and used it on tons of movie trailer/tv film mixes), but this new version is a noticeable level-up. I didnโt need it - but Iโm very happy to have it!
So happy to hear that. It's a great day over here!
