Would kinda be preferable to have the VBC in VMR format by now rather than completing the SSL CS for another 149$. Perhaps update the SSL EQ with a LPF first?

Nice addition!

But what would be dope (for me) is being able to use the different modules separately without the racks so you can put other plugins in between if needed instead of loading another instance of vmr everytime!

Or… make every emulations possible inside vmr like pultec, a clipper, deesser, bus comps, limiters, tape….

Requires the latest version of VMR, which isnt
compatabile with Digital Performer 9.52. It fails
AU validation.

Oh well..I’ve got enough compressors.

I never quite understood why the Low Pass Filter was excluded.
As for an SSL channel compressor, look no further than FG-401.

The person who coded it, no longer works for Slate anymore. It's being rewritten with modern day code from the ground up.

Having them separate has been brought up a lot. Years back they had plans to do that. They know about it. Either or you have still make great records with the VMR until then.

As far as I remember Fabrice was the one who coded FG-X, him and Steven were very proud when it first introduced. Does it mean that Fabrice Gabriel left the building of programmers and moved to another position? I always thought FG on Slate plugins were his initials.

Fabrice is the co founder. Other guys were involved with it. He already mentioned the FG X 2 in the pipeline when the BX limiter dropped last year via Slate's facebook group.. Someone mentioned that they messaged him on facebook. He's the co founder, and has a team that works on the plugins.

Just save your individual VMR module inside VMR as a DAW preset that you use and just be done with it.

That way it is no different then loading any other "individual" plugin.

Unless your mind is itching every time you see VMR rack, then that's a different problem altogether.

But you can definitely have "load as individual module" workflow with VMR plugins these days with any DAW.

When forum people (not you directly) say it like that it almost sounds as: a plugin can not sound good unless Fabrice coded it. Which is irrational.

AFAIK quite a few dynamic modules in VMR were outsourced by 3rd parties yet they sound fabulous and people still think they are being coded by Fabrice. So there is that. Figure that out.

Everyone should simply trial and demo modules on their own music and then make their own mind about it.

But no...let's talk controversy.

For $15 a month you get a lot of usable stuff... Slate products definitely have a sound and if that’s what rocks your world then great. I remember being a Neve fan and hating the sound of SSL and for the same reasons I don’t always use the Slate plugins as I found SSL to be harder and less warm around the edges than Neve. Courses for horses I guess.
I think the new addition is fine though

Shouldn’t this be included for free in the first place 14 years ago. They released a broken SLL first and now they decided to make it complete Still late to the party and wanna charge people? 150 for the compressor part that is outrageous. I wouldn’t even consider to spend for the whole VMR for that price tag. Going into sub don’t even start it.

VMR 401 do a great job already. Only real benefit offre this plug-in could be the gate part. Is it 149 $ worth it for perpetual license ? I'm not sure.

I guess the FG-Filter must be next for $149? There’s no way in hell that I’m spending $149 for the dynamics section.
