I'm stoked to try, but it's 7am and I haven't slept... must resist.

Why the ' Depth ' knob is now set to ' 0 '? It should be in the middle by default ?

Definitely sounds a lot better. Some of the transients I kept trying to get back via EQ are now there. I actually turned off the EQ for now. Will need to listen to it a bit more and play with ear profiles. I want to say it sounds more harsh but that might be just because it has more detail now.

Mike Dean also sounds a lot more usable to me now. It was always great at bass, but now the rest seems to be there. I always felt certain transients dropped drastically in this room. Seems to be not the case now...I think.

I received a discount code via email for the new room, but it doesn't work at checkout unfortunately.

Had the same "bug". Set it back to around 1 o' clock where i had it previously.

Interestingly the depth know has clear audible changes to me. Before, it wasn't quite as obvious.

Totally different experience after the update. V2 did always sound phasy to me, that has completely gone with V3. Now it really feels like being in that room! This update lifts VSX to a whole other level, absolutely great!

Well, fukinghell. All i can say is yes please.

The transients are now full of low energy! Exactly what i was missing when switching to speakers. It's like a phase shift has been corrected.
I made a template where i can A/B between the two, so it's super clear what changed.

Those very fast compressed transients on drums, now you can hear the low mid / bass "thud". In your face.
This will help tremendeously when using compressors with VSX.

The most apparent difference is in the Howie room. Everyone commented how phasy sounding it is. Now with the fixed transients it's a completely different room. It's like in V2 you were listening from the hall, now you are in the producer seat.

I'm noticing a lot less of that phasyness in the cars. Basically all the rooms sound good now in terms of phasiness and transients.

Is there a grace period please? I have only had my VSX registered for less than one month and hardly used it as I knew a big update was coming so didn’t want to learn rooms that were changing. But I would of waited if I knew Mike Dean was now included for free.

A grace period for Mike deans room to be added would be nice.

What's funny is that in an analyzer the low end is way less in all the rooms, like 3-5db in some cases. But while listening, the bass actually feels much more.

EDIT: oops i swapped the plugins, so VSX 3 does actually have much more low end. That would explain why i don't find the highs that harsh now.

No idea, just posting what I saw on facebook, but I doubt it as they've raised the price and bundled in Mikes room in with the price increase.

Mixing down a song again that was originally mixed in VSX right after it came out and I wasn't that fluent in the room calibration yet. It needed quite a bit of work especially in the low end as it was thick and heavy.

This time I was carefully examining the lows in MD Mains & Car, Zuma, and Howie. Ozone analysis only added a little 0.5dB sub sweep up below 33hz. Nice!
