That shouldn't alter backward compatibility -- the parameters saved with all your sessions will still recall perfectly even if the presets have changed. However, if you pull up a familiar preset and expect it to sound a certain way, yes, according to Dave, those will sound different. And I hope that's not the case. I'd rather see updated presets given new names, or listed under a "V1.5 presets" list.

Yeah, I'd prefer that method to be safe.

This is exactly why i bounce in audio as soon as i produce and validate and structure in audio (hence the fire i was victim of in cubase thread lol can 't believe i have to explain this in a pro audio forum) ...yep Elambo you're right a 1.5 folder is the way to go (all brands does this for the exact reason from UVI to NI )

Question for trilian users. I have omnisphere, love it. Thinking of getting trilian just for some of the synths (ms-20, moogs, etc) - i'm wondering if its possible to use these for non-bass sounds? i loved the dual filter on the ms20 with high pitch sounds - is it possible to pitch all the samples up with no loss in quality? i don't see any examples like that on youtube. i'd like to have the full octave ranges the original ms-20 or moog voyager has for example- if so, i'm sold.

While you can of course play any Trilian sound
in the upper octaves, I’d say if you want
sampled synths that work well across the
entire keyboard range, get iK’s Syntronik
Trilian IS a bass instrument, after all.

Alas, I still use TRilogy. Wonderful wonderful bass, including acoustic standup. Installation is 2 minutes, including the "massive 3gb sounds". Any time I'm mocking up anything resembling "God Only Knows", Trilogy is the obvious choice.

thanks, i looked into that. its not even close to the same quality imo. also, i love that spectrasonics has gotten permission to use every synth sample by its actual name.
hopefully i can find some trillian clips online that test its upper octaves so i can hear for myself. thanks.

Hi maybe some of you guys can help with this. I have tried trilian acoustic bass and I have a question about the Slide Down articulation:
the slide always begins from the beginning of the note. Is there a way to make the slide begin at a certain time after the beginning of the note?
Let's suppose you have a long note on beat 1 but you want to slide it only beginning from beat 2 (without putting there a second note) is it possible? This is way common on a normal bass or guitar.

Update: apparently it was dropped in favour of zooming and other features as it was under used, which is fair. You can still run older versions if you need that utility.

Haven’t used this synth for years , but remember paying a lot for it.
I recently went to use it and noticed I can’t edit the control page anymore ? You used to be able to arrange buttons and group knobs for macro control of parameters , but Imonly see midi assign options now ?
Contacted spectra and just get bot reply’s . Pfff

Anybody know if they axed this feature ?
