you have to push it a bit to get the goodness but when you do it's lovely gooey and gluey with nice rounding and movement.
Try magic wand preset on a master buss and adjust to taste.. i just pushed the 'R37' all the way to bent and liked

This thing is absolutely wicked good! So many different flavors you can get out of it. It even supports up to 16x oversampling within reaper if you want to go all crazy with virtually zero aliasing even at stupid settings.

I may have to sacrifice one of those PA 1$ coupons on this one.

EDIT: Nope. Just compared it to DMG Audio Track Comp 2 and preferred it by quite a margin (tested on vocals and acoustic guitar). Track Comp 2 just sounds more "real" somehow. Hmm.. though I need more time to decide of course. Neold U2 is much quicker to setup for actual distortion/mayhem but I don't see myself using it for that.

The lack of channel splitting is a deal breaker on any dynamic processor for me, unfortunately.
I was happy when I saw the announcement, but it's the first NEOLD plugin I have to give up on.

Just bought it. Also compared it to trackcomp. I really like it. It does something that I really like. Trackcomp in 1176 mode to the u2a is maybe my best combo so far.

First impression is this is a mojo machine. I'd consider it a LA2A 'fx' comp. Testing on a female vocal and I love how apparent the sound of the U2A is. I dialed it in to the point of 'too much' and then settled on a mix of about 15% wet. Really like the sound and can see myself pushing electric guitars thru that saturation stage. Might have something that replaces or at least compliments the TE-100 for that job.

The U17 was love at first listen. The U2A didn't hit me like that but certainly intrigued me to keep pushing and finding a spot where I can reap the benefit of the tones this mojo machine can achieve.

Ah, I finally get to use one of those Forever $29 codes I have been stockpiling for the last few months.

Running it through it's paces right now and I can you tell this one is a master at low end manipulation. Knocks very much like my hardware tube gorillas!

I'm using the ACME Audio Opticom XLA-3 all the time for LA2A style compression, It seems this one could be a serious contender.

Same. My first impression was "Oh great....another LA-2A? How many of these do we need out there?" but had a Forever 29 code I'd been kicking around for awhile and figured it was from Neold and had some interesting things so why not...let's check it out.

I dig it. It's kind of a funner, crunchier LA-2A for roughing stuff up in a cool way. You can just compress with it, but you probably have 3 other LA-2A's that do that, but the little extra features and things are the fun part.

Neold always makes great stuff. I'm pretty much covered in the compression department so I'll not be getting it but I did try it out and this and it is very good. For the price some are getting it (someone said they got it for a buck) this is a literal no brainer

That ship has long sailed. Some months ago if you committed to a $29 per month sub, you would get a voucher where you could buy any plugin for $1. You could subscribe as little or as much as you wanted to, so in effect, any plugin, especially new releases, would cost you $30.

Then PA scrapped the idea (as usual) but continues to maintain the scheme for the subscribers (I think, unless people just hoarded the $1 vouchers).

So, no secret, just made of purest unobtanium.

Yeah I dropped the subscription…. That was my last forever $29 code….

Now that I think on this. You never see a Plugin Alliance promo anymore. Did GS and PA break up the band? I think something is going on that GS will NOT promo any PA product. Maybe because Dirk refused to come here anymore.

I hoard, I hoard. Yeah, PA keeps bringing out 3rd party plugins ala Kiive or some other company. With Kiive, I buy from Kiive so, all of their plugins I had already. Great plugins by the way.
PA on the other hand usually releases BX or Lindell or Neold or SPL you know, their normal connected company plugins and they showed that they were going to be releasing about 12 to 15 new plugins (Not the 3rd party ones) and they did a last min Forever29 application so, I figured, why not. I'm probably going to buy them anyway and for the ones I don't buy, I'll just save the code until the ones I like.
So far, so good. I can't complain.

But since I have zero need for another compressor plugin at the moment, I'll wait a year or so for this to go on sale for ~$30, as it inevitably will. And only because it's by Neold, far and away my most-used "analog emulation" plugins by a wide margin!
