Phoenix Audio would like to announce the release of our latest product called Scion, Scion comes from the Nicerizer family of products and is our latest version of the legendary summary mixers which have been the heartbeat of many studios for over 20 years now, the concept of the Nicerizer summing mixers has always been to offer the sound and tone of a classic large format analog console but in a small rack mount size.

When we decided to design Scion we wanted to go back to the drawing board of the summing mixer, offering all the best parts of the classic Nicerizer whilst thinking about what is critical in 2024, often mixing and mastering engineers are asked to create a additional new mix as the client wants a new mix to be perhaps more bass centric, or maybe more focused on the vocals or just louder so when we developed Scion we thought how cool would it be to offer mix engineers the ability to create three completely different sounding mixes this will allow far greater creativity, sonic options for their clients and crucially time saving where they no longer need to โ€˜performโ€™ another mix.

Scion offers the ability to record 3 simultaneously distinctive mixes : You can offer a colored mix through our classic transformers & Class A circuitry where you can get that saturated and colored tone that people love for rock or some hip hop mixes, a very clean sounding mix which might be fantastic for acoustic instruments or classical and then a third option where you can blend between the two options for a hybrid mix option which might be great for pop.

We feel this is a very exciting change and key to our design ethos of always coming up with new and exciting product ideas rather than the same old cloned and reproduced products that we often see in todays market.

In terms of the features of Scion as you can expect with all Phoenix Audio products we offer, nothing but the best in Class A discrete analog circuitry design with 16 Class buffer amps, hardware analog panning, classic Phoenix transformers and Class A discrete output amplifiers. Every channel also our new drive technology switching so they can push each individual channels circuitry harder for more analog color and tone with attenuated output controls for easy recall and greater accuracy.

Again like all Phoenix Audio products, the mixing part of the Scion is built around a Class A active high gain voltage earth solution which has always been the pinnacle of analog summing.

The Scion also has a master insert send and return so you can insert your favorite outboard compressor or EQ
and linking function so two units can be merged into a true 32 channel unit which should satisfy every mixing application.

Finally there is a stereo width effect tool which can create some really cool widening effects with up to 25% more width or the ability to create a mono effect, these allow the ability to be incredibly creative.
