Does the $130 USD price include the mic?

Wow!! Very impressive - the sound difference between stock and your modded version is night and day. No question that I'd spend far less time 'eq sculpting' my guitar tone if I recorded with an OPR57 at the front of my chain.
- May need to get one of these...

what about a Beta 57?

This MOD can be done with that mic and others too . I can custom make a torroidal transformer for any dynamic or Ribbon Mic you require.

Yes I do what were you interested in?

Ripped the SM57 tranny out and use it as a kick drum mic outside the front skin. It goes well below 80Hz. The transformer is the actual weak link in the design. Capsule is quite good as is. Gonna make it active next for vocal work.

Best mod you can do to your beta mics is to remove the transformer all together. The neodymium driver is way hotter to begin with, the volume drop is actually a good thing. I tore transformers out of my all 3pcs Beta56a, was a bit tricky. After that removed the resonator plastic pieces also. They are still cardioid because the directionality comes from the air vents in the back. Now I have shure mics for TOM recording. None of that cardboard sound anymore.
