HEDD | Heinz Electrodynamic Designs has been launched in October 2015 by physicist and music enthusiast Klaus Heinz, founder and long term head of R&D at ADAM Audio, and his son Frederik Knop, a musicologist and mastering engineer. Earlier this month, the Berlin based manufacturer of innovative studio-monitors revealed its international distribution network.

This week, HEDD has officially launched series production for their nearfield monitors Type 05 and Type 07:
• Type 05 active near field monitor: 6“ woofer, HEDD AMT tweeter, 2x50W RMS ICE power® amplifier, 45hz–50khz frequency response, max. peak 103dB SPL
• Type 07 active near field monitor: 7“ woofer, HEDD AMT tweeter, 2x100W RMS ICE power® amplifier, 38hz–50khz frequency response, max. peak 108dB SPL
Both models feature improved woofer designs, modern unibody cabinets in matt black, the latest generation of ICE power® amplifiers, and a sophisticated new version of Klaus Heinz’ well known Air Motion tweeter design (the HEDD Air Motion Transformer). Furthermore, the monitors are equipped with the HEDD Brigde, a modular inputcard- system that enables Audio-over-IP- (Dante, Ravenna), USB2-, and AES3-integration. Wireless solutions are in the making. Later this year, HEDD will introduce the Type 30, a 3-way midfield monitoring system.

HEDD also launched its own techblog blog - HEDD this week.

Starting with an article about “How to find the better studio-monitors” by founder and CEO Klaus Heinz, the company will release monthly articles about many audio-related topics.

Written by the HEDD staff as well as by chosen guest authors, contributions will feature perspectives on loudspeaker designing, new developments in multichannel audio, recording and post-production, interviews and info on the latest Audio-over-IP and Wireless technologies.
