Klanghelm SDRR2 and IVGI 2 released
by tonhelm
16th June 2017
I've just released major updates for the saturation plugins SDRR and its free little brother IVGI. Both plugins received a major overhaul.
Due to the many changes both SDRR2 and IVGI2 have new plugin-IDs, so you can use both version 1 & 2 at the same time.
new features / changes:
SDRR:
- new GUIs
- GUI-resizing
- reworked VU meter, uses the engine of VUMT 2 now
- Automatic Gain Compensation option, similar to the one used in MJUC
- critically revisited all modes
- reworked dynamics section of TUBE, DIGI and FUZZ modes to be less quirky
- in DESK mode the TRANSIENTS control now works more obvious and and similar to a traditional transient shaper
- redesigned compressor in DESK mode:
- it is now a VCA type compressor with program dependent attack and release
- three switchable attack and release behaviors (slow, medium, fast)
- also, a gain reduction meter has been added to the COMP section
- the dry (unprocessed) signal is now pre-trim
- new HQ-mode:
OFF: non-oversampled operation, uses significantly less CPU than before
ON: low-latency oversampling (4 samples), corresponds to SDRR 1
ON+: more detailled modelling and linear phase oversampling filters used for this option
- new preset-browser, just like the one used for MJUC and VUMT, incl. easy copy/paste/save-as-default...
- tooltips

IVGI:
- reworked VU meter, uses the engine of VUMT 2 now
- added new RELAXED mode, which is a variation of the original IVGI model to enhance the sonic palette

EDIT 06/19/17:
SDRR 2.0.1 released, which fixes the broken latency reporting in the AAX version, when switching HQ modes.
