I asked one of the reps a question I knew he couldn't answer, but...

So when will Toontrack release Superior Drummer 3.0?

The expression on his face was the same as my daughter when I asked her if she polished off the last of the Ice cream in the fridge????

So, I don't know anymore than that. Hoping it will be before the end of 2014.

I would love to see those new EZD features in Superior Drummer 3.

With all due respect, if you asked a TT rep, why would anyone here have an answer for you that's different? Those of us who know the TT team (I do, used to run their phone support) can't share information unless we're told we can.

So the answer is that no one is going to let you know, sorry. Use EZD2 and you'll be impressed at how much like SD2 it is.

I'm hoping others will post here if they find an early pre-release blackout violation like with NI Komplete 10.

Speculation is fine - but anyone who breaks an NDA (and believe me, you're under if you're beta testing anything as big a release as these) is just asking to be zapped. The MI Industry is a lot smaller than you think

Are you kidding? I work at one the top five tech companies, and I am blown away by the stuff employees release into the wild without authorization. Product details, code names, etc.

You know TT is going to milk EZdrummer2 for all its worth. And IMO its a great release with few issues.

When the dust settles and half off sales decline then its time for Superior.

I haven't purchased either, but if superior drummer 3 has the functionality of both ezdrummer and superior drummer, I will definitely buy it.

I am not bothered about SD3. What I would like is a new SDX drum library that is brand new not a rehash of a previous library. I don't think there has been a brand new SDX in several years.

There must be an interesting sounding studio somewhere that TT could go and wack some drums in and produce an SDX library with lots of ambience channels for us engineers to get our teeth into. And I don't mean a studio run by a bunch of hippies in Amsterdam (Reggae EZX). God help us what they get up to in such places. Thank God EZX does not come with a smell channel.

SD3 will be sooner than later. Using much of whats in EZdrummer. We shall see what other goodies come our way. They have a big announcement in November. Thats probably it.

My cousin knows a guy whose brother is married to the lady who grooms the dog of the guy who fixes the Toontrack CEO's Mercedes. I have been assured that it'll be out by Christmas.

Which Christmas is anyone's guess.

Not knocking people who use EZdrummer, but i personally have no need for Superior Drummer to play the parts for me. I had much rather them put the energy towards expanding the libraries.

I bought the Reggae EZX and Reggae MIDI and they sound great. Even better when I get Superior Drummer 3. BTW, its in Stockholm, not Amsterdam.

The EZ2 features in the next version of Superior would make it the most functional drum software on the planet. I have put S2 on the shelf and use EZ2 right. It's so fast for building drum tracks.

Toontrack is teasing with releasing what they call "Raw, Superior Power" on the 25th of November during their 'Metal Month'. They don't reveal more than 10% of the picture, but the picture is located in the webcode anyways, and the object in the picture is in a shape of a three (although it could also be two Ms for 'Metal Month').
