Yamaha 01/X in Win 7

Has anyone found a way to get Yamaha mLAN to work with Win 7? I have a $1000 doorstop in the form of a Yamaha 01X which won't work with Win 7 as Yamaha never did a driver for it. I have a dual boot PC now with XP to do the music but it is a pity I can't use all my stuff with Win 7. The same problem applies to my emagic AMT 8 and even in XP, Yamaha studio manager causes Cubase to lock up.

I'm running two i88x units, an ES8, and Studio Manager just fine in Win7 with Cubase 7.5.20.

There's only one setup trick necessary AFAIK in the FireWire card driver designation. Works for me anyway.

WELL IT IS FINALLY SORTED!!! I have the 01/X and Studio Manager fully functional in Windows 11 thanks to my computer guru Rob. Thanks Rob!

Cool. I once had a full Yamaha mLAN setup with 02R, i88xs, Motif all running into Nuendo.
But once they killed mLAN and 64bit, I sold them all - all Yamaha and Nuendo. No more will I be locked into a single platform for anything.

Curious tho, how did you get it working.

I did like those i88x pres - 70dB of noiseless/clean sound.

I have no idea. It took him ages! I think he managed to get a suitable driver and somehow convince Windows to recognise it in test mode. I can't shut down the computer with mLAN on or I get a blue screen. It really is working though, 01/X, Studio manager, remote, the lot!
