Ok I just looked at the settings for this effect. They are very long reverb settings. I don't mind making a long version of the gates and reverse gates to achieve this. I will start this tomorrow.

Someone asked about the symphonic preset, whilst I was making the library I had considered it. However it was going to take more work. I decided not to add it to the library as it is basically a modulation thing. It might be that I’ll add it to the modulation pack or make something separate for modulation catogory.

also I've been told that this unit was used lots in early 90's electronica like aphex and Autechre's first 2 albums but i'm no expert in this, I was told by a friend.

Bought. Love your verbs mate. Espicially the Alesis. They are a treat for electronic music. Just had a quick play with this sounds great. +1 for some longer verbs for this!

x90 is really nice for all the electronic noise I like to make. The skin is cool too. I'm using the mini86verb library a lot, but now it has a friend, maybe an enemy, we'll see.

Cool I am a little surprised by the enthusiasm for the SPX90's reverbs, but people like what they like

Not sure if you've already been there, but the Alesis MIDIVerb II is probably a box worth considering too, I seem to remember "Bloom" getting used a lot back in the day.

The Yamaha Rev7's bass patches (some kind of tuned ER I think) were also a stand out.

I mean they are character reverbs… they are lowfi. And the gates are very qwirky. I have a lexicon 300 that I want to sample but it’s finding what would work well in a library. I’m waiting for 3.5 emproms to install.

Absolutely, application is everything. Having a wide choice (which you are contributing to massively) and knowing what these things sound like is key.
Gotta say Lexicon kind of lost me with the M300 (I'm assuming that's the one you mean, not the 300L, that looks like a 480L). I used one in the early 90s, thinking that it was going to be a similar sound to the 480L, not close. Same with the PCM80 and the PCM70, completely different beasts. Definitely made it clear to me where my taste lay

Yes I have m300. Same algo's as 480, different filters on the convertors and they have more tail modulation but you edit them to be less, I personally feel lexicon put way to much spin on presets making it a bit blurry. Also imo if you put a very steep minimum phase filter in front of the 300 it sounds very very close to a 480. Giving it phase distortion and no out of bounds timing issues on the transients. On a side note I've never liked what linear phase filtering does to listening equipment. This is why I always try to negate the amount of ringing on libraries whilst trying to keep the phase intact. On convertors I've always preferred minimum phase, everything stays tight imo but honestly it only really works out at higher sample rates.

The first of the reverb updates is up! Overall the reverb should be even tighter sounding. I've put the same deconvolution techniques and template tweaks as x90.
