Is it possible to assign one of the function buttons to the Cubase function "Direct monitoring" on and off...?
I have planned to buy a Steinberg MR816CSX and CC121, and I will only record vocals and DI'ed electric guitars. Vocals with direct monitoring using the internal DSP of the MR816, but guitars with Guitar Rig 4 as insert FX which works of course only when monitoring through the DAW. Since everything else is so well integrated and the workflow so easy with project templates, quick connect etc. etc. it would be the icing on the cake if you can change between direct and DAW monitoring by pushing one button on the CC121 and don't have to open any windows in Cubase anymore.
So, is it possible?

AFAIK that isn't possible, it's not available as key command either.
It is a switch on driver level, even though it would be great if it was assignable.

Thanks - it was not what I hoped to hear, but now I know. Well, then I need a workaround... I think I ask about that in a new thread, since that is no longer connected to the CC121, and the mention of the CC121 in the thread title might keep people who don't own it but use Cubase and / or the MR816CSX from reading.
