We installed a brand new mac today that came with OS-X / Jaguar pre installed.
Played around with it for an hour or so .... integrated audio and midi configuration possibilities look very impressive.
I think I'm going to install Jaguar at home on my 733 to get used to it.
One thing is sure ... imvho everybody who has a change to OSX for their audio systems in mind .... one advice .... take a couple of days or even weeks to fool around with the OS before installing your audio stuff on it. You'll definately benifit from being used to the environment. It is quite different .....
I have been holding off on using computers with my music until what I consider a decent OS is available with decent audio applications. My idea of a decent OS is something like Linux (hence my avatar); Mac OSX is Linux-like enough for me and has a real chance of having applications like Pro Tools ported to it.
I also am looking forward to 64-bit coming to the PPC; I think it will happen sooner with the Mac than with the X86 processors. The PPC architechure is more elegant than the X86's; it makes things like Altiverb possible.
Now, if I wasn't a starving college student again so that I could afford these kinds of toys...
