Recording audio into daw i get a crackling/popping sound
Whats going on everyone? So this has been plaguing me forever on Windows. My previous machine was a 5950x and now I have a new intel 265k.
Using the apollo twin x gen 2, when I only.open up console and listen through the headphones of what's going through the mic, it's completely smooth with no crackling. When I open up any daw (studio one pro 7 or cubase 14 pro) once I hit record or just monitor what's being recorded, if I sing some oooooooos into the mic there will be a crackling like there's an issue with latency or buffer. I've tried every single buffer size, 44 to 92, dropout protection off to maximum, and still no change. But once I'm not in the daw to record and just monitor through uad console app, there is no issue.
I've tried many other interfaces and still get the same issue. Now when I do the same process on my mac mini, this issue doesn't happen.
So for the ones recording on windows, is there something you've done or encountered this issue as well? I have all the c states and power saving things turned off in bios, have the power settings set to maximum, disk drives never turn off, already checked for latency issues and none there at all.
I just don't know what to do anymore.
