I had an old MOTU interface that no longer powered on. I tossed it into the tub of electronic stuff that I was taking to Hazmat and when it landed on the pile, it make a very clear and distinct "clunk". Absolutely 100% "acoustic".



In all seriousness, your friend might appreciate the time-honored practice of reamping his digital keyboards through a guitar amp or powered speaker, miking it up, and using that instead of the DI sound. Or blending that back in.

Move some air and it really is more "acoustic" sounding.
