I was going to remain content, but then I encountered Hainbach offerings at AudioThing. At least last year there was some discounts on individual ones and the full 7 plug-ins bundle. I'm following for now.

No virtual instruments, except if I cave in and by Pianoteq, which would be wasted on me because I am not a pianist, but I like how it sounds. They don’t really do the big sales that would make it a no brainer for me, though

For sure I’ll get something from Liquidsonics, upgrades to the big versions of 7H and Tai chi maybe.

Right here on this very website, I recently have been reading a bunch of threads about people who have gone overboard with too many plugins. About how nobody needs a ton of plugins that all do pretty much the same thing. That hoarding is bad. That limitations breed creativity. That hardware is where it's at anyway.


So I'll probably only buy a few new plugins for Black Friday.

Not screaming deals, but will probably pick up the Kiive Complexx $59.99 for the “thing” it does to drums, and perhaps the Acon Deverberate.

My plugin-hoarding has eased off automatically the last few years. After rebuilding my plugin library after the Protools move to applesilicon native AAX, I feel I have most of what I need.

The problem now is developers coming out with new tech that offers next-level stuff; MakeBelieve Mixhead, Savant Audio, etc.

I'm really hoping for a discount on Protools reinstatement for perpetual licenses. I let my support plan lapse last year because Avid removed the extra cost for so-called reinstatement of support plan. They usually have a sale at this time. And if I buy a 'reinstatement code' from a retailer, I can use it next year when I will finally upgrade my macOS and PT versions. (Remember if you buy it from your Avid account, it will take effect immediately and start running; not so with a code from a reseller. It can be activated at your convenience.)

Last year was quite underwhelming for me. My wallet hopes this year will be no different.

I'd love to get NI's Schema:light and Schema:dark at a discount. I love Native Instruments Playbox and its randomness so these should be great.

Also want to get a few Kontakt libraries.

I’m considering getting one or two external ssd drives (actually, I’ll look for internal ssd + external boxes) if there’s a decent discount, because I’d like to get a M4 Mac Mini in the next few months (I need storage space for projects and libraries, so the ssd drives). I’ll probably need some adapters as well, so those are on my list too.

As far as music gear… I have no plans. As much as I’d like some eurorack and some outboards, I’m not getting those items because they are expensive and then I have to figure out a place for them (I have no space left). I need some simple modules to expand my semi-modular synths, though!


I think I may consider a usb audio interface if it’s really cheap and small and it has spdif connectivity: if I switch to a M4 Mac Mini, all my gear would be connected to that machine, so an additional audio interface would allow me to use my current pc as a secondary machine (but I still have my old Roland Studio Capture that could do the job, it’s just bulky and overkill for the task).


I may upgrade to Traktor 4 if there’s a discounted price (but I feel no pressure).

Other software… mmm… I don’t know, unless something really catches my attention…

Bought a cheap Eventide Anthology XI license on the resale market and upgraded to XII for $59 with the Black Friday pricing. Super stoked.

Reminder that if Thoman carries a plugin that is on sale it takes a day or two for them to list the sales price but if you are in the US (or maybe any non-vat country) they normally come out the cheapest (so like D16, Toontracks).

I'm lucky to not have any real needs at the moment, so anything I get will be for fun and curiosity's sake. Keeping an eye on LiquidSonics Seventh Heaven, the E-MU Proteus racks from Digital Sound Factory, and Korg Collection... if anyone does a tempting enough bundle sale, I'll bite.

It's on now. Lines and Noises are 39€ each and the whole Hainpack is 199€. There's an 8th free plug-in called Moon Echo in there now as well, that emulates, well, Moon echoes. Available on its own as well.

I have purchased some plugins during the year like a few Three-body tech Deep Vintage plugins and Metric Halo MBSI and few others. I have better set of tracking and mixing tools than a year ago.

However I have been thinking to upgrade my drums vsti. I have used SSD 5.5 for some time. EZdrummer 3 sounds pretty good and I think it would be a step up. I hope they'll have a sale.

Sorry i shouldn't have limited this to plugins.....if Sennheiser ever again offers the 935 mic for $100 I'm all over it!

Absolutely nothing, thankfully over the last year or so aside from UAD bits and pieces, I have no desire for new plugins or instruments anymore. I have so much crap I rarely use already, if I cant do what I need to do with what I've already gathered over the years, Im might as well just stop. At this point, there's no 'magic game changers' left for me.

I am keeping an eye on Sweetwater for gear sales though. Need me a new interface and maybe another Ferrofish soon..

They had it for $99 last december, and actually for $29 in april of 2022. Fingers crossed, although I have all the channelstrips from SSL. They sound excellent and go so well with the UC1 controller.

eventide phaser and flanger are tempting me, imma try the trial first then decide, I was also mega impressed by kush audio, they are dangerously good sounding.

I think you mean the $30 (or 50$ with the bus comp I think) deal for the refreshed/old native channel strip 2, I plunged on that one, the 4ke came out late last year. But fingers crossed for a good deal nonetheless..

You can buy a plugin to make all the bleepity-bloop sounds you could want.

I rarely hear of any producer (or many live performers) that uses eurorack in their production.
