I saw a similar thread on here, but it was vintage 2015, so let's try a newer version...

I still occasionally pull out Voxengo's Old Skool reverb...not sure how old the latest version is, but I got my version around 2017.

Full Bucket's FB-3300 synth (a Korg emulation and also free) came out about the same time and is still my fav for retro synths.

Lots of old plugins installed and still working. But most used; I guess Massey L2007. Absynth. MaagEQ4. Still good.

Most plugins I have is now running natively on apple silicon mac and the latest version of Protools. Pretty impressive that we're now here; from TDM to RTAS to AAX - and from PowerPC to Intel to ARM, and so much of this software is still with us. Absynth, though, is abandoned by Native instruments, but can still be run in latest PT thru BC Patchwork wrapper as vst.

I still use Absynth too; no special requirements needed for my DAW (Mixcraft).

I still use a few Waves plugins that I have probably had almost 10 years: NLS, CLA Compressors, L2 Maximizer.

Zebra2, probably the first virtual synth I bought (or impOscar, can’t remember, but I don’t use that anymore).
For effect plugins, I am not sure I still use anything from pre-2010. ValhallaRoom is from 2011, DC1A from 2012, both still very good.

I still use Halion 3 that was originally released in 2004. Version 3.5 is from 2009.

Yeah, hmm.. I really have to think about this one, and I wonder if there is anything I had TDM that I still would or could use on an m chipped mac I just updated to.... I remember getting ostensibly the first plug in for protools/soundtools in DiNR way back when.... in the mail on a floppy, and was quite curious....but from those nubus days to the next step in TDM systems, and then getting pissed at Digi/Avid, and going more native for a long time in the early 00's, and VST's and AU's and then when Avid untethered PT again... and now using different daws when at all possible outside of certain scenarios and using just AU/VSTs... hmmm. .. I'm scratching my head... perhaps some Lexicon reverb has mutated over time (but then again, they aren't Apple Silicon native yet so...), or perhaps PodFarm (but that's gone too right?)... hmm...

So my answer is probably something quite boring like the stock eq in Ableton (the 3 band one in Ableton v1?), or perhaps some Emagic Logic stock or add on (at the time) like ex24 or whatever...

But third party...still using today, even if not in 'released' form etc....?

hmm... Kontakt or something else in the original NI stuff? Does Reason's Subtractor count?

(but I'm trying to follow @ Ben Jenssen lead and find something that went from early digi card supported, to Motorola/PowerPC to apple intel to apple silicon.....) .. Someone has had their coffee more then I have today and will have a better answer I'm sure and jog my fading memory...

The 2005 UAD plugs (LA-2a, 1176, Pultec) and some Avid plugs (7 band, Reel tape echo, Mod Delay, etc.), the Duende channel strip and buss comp.

Waves L-2 It cost hundreds of dollars. ( I don't remember when but it came on discs, and well before beta test of Reaktor)

The cats at NI were so passionate and innovative. The so-called "user manuals" were a joke but it didn't matter...no time for that.

and Absynth sadly seems to be going the way of the white whale with Pro 52/53 etc unfortunately .. (I did love that it would take OG Prophet 5 patches!)...

Question: Does Kontakt 6 work fine with M series apple's running Sonoma, as I am doing the "great Kontakt migration" right now myself from my older systems, and obviously its quite a pita with all my old libraries and whatnot, ... I'm wondering if I should just not worry about 7 and go for 6 if it will work without going Rosetta or other snafu's.... as I'm getting a little tired with what NI has been doing since I last updated all my stuff...

they really lost the thread big time... (and we could go on for hours on that I imagine from Kore 1 to Kore 2 to B3 to the joke they made of Battery 3-->4 , and so on and so forth)..

but I'm for the most part not installing the whole Komplete ultimate, as I don't use most of it much at all, some things... , but Kontakt is kinda important for me with my heavy use of it over the years.....

"oldest" can mean several things. I take this to be mean the oldest update still running, rather than purchase date or introduction date.

If so it's probably Cakewalk Z3TA+ 2 — February 2017 —that runs inside my native DAW in macOS as AU via the AUHostingCompatibilityService or as VST3 inside a wrapper, both using Rosetta2 to be able to run.

Then for clarity, oldest meaning when it came out, not when you bought it (though most of the time I suspect those dates are pretty close). Not sure what you mean by "still running."

I still use McDSP FilterBank and CompressorBank occasionally. They have a sound, simple UI and near-zero CPU load.

When it first came out? I mean, this focus means I must mention Waves as those are the oldest. So C1, I suppose, even if that is not that often and got that alternative now too. El Juan? But C1 is far, far from the oldest update and cannot be more than year old. So how is it "old" at all? Some code is, but not all of it. I dunno.

Dunno if you used it/use it, but as Karloff mentioned, our MH ChannelStrip came out for PT TDM in 1998, and is still supported today on Intel/Apple Silicon native + AAX|DSP). Since Waves never supported AAX|DSP, other than the Digi/Avid plugins, it may well be the oldest supported plugin that has Pro Tools DSP support.

but hmm...I know It's not third party (but since I was able to use it in a third party daw, ala Opcodes Studio Vision, so I think that make it for valid of the purposes of this conversation right ? ), but D-Verb still is hanging in there right? (last I looked, I haven't used PT in awhile, and obviously been longer since I used Studio Vision....)

Ren-Comp for me still sees heavy action. Whatever Waves did on that one they did just right. I'm still on an intel though, not sure if it is still supported with m-class

Yeah, while I hear you, I think the parameters of this thread require plugins/products that are still supported and available for purchase, and sadly things like Absynth and B4 etc don't count as a new customer can't get them and they are no longer supported on new systems....

same with some of the others mentioned by others...

So for example, Recycle doesn't count as no longer supported... and hasn't been a new version in over a decade etc//// but :
