Can I control the input to the line out so that it only ever sends track playback to the monitors and not the input audio? Currently if I want to play back a track I have to remember to turn the monitor balance all the way to computer to avoid feedback. Then while recording turn it back to my desired setting for the cans and turn down line output. Very clunky, and if I forget ouch! I normally work with a Lynx Hilo and none of this is an issue because you have complete control over input and output routing. Iβm helping out a friend and he must think me a compete idiot!
I think I've made this post too complicated. Here goes: Regarding the Tascam US-2x2 β Can the line output be configured to monitor only computer audio, never an input source, from a mic for example?

Whatever you configure the line out to do I would expect the headphone out to mirror so not really going to help you.
Thanks. It certainly appears that way. Even my 16 yr old 2 channel Focusrite box could be routed via software to mute mic to speaker out. Considering this is mostly for bedroom set-ups without a separate monitoring room, Iβm kind of shocked!
