Blacklion Revolution 2x2 and S/Dif
Hello All,
I just purchased a Blacklion Revolution 2x2 to replace the dead Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 2nd gen that I had been using for a few years. I had mainly chosen the Scarlett as it had S/:Pdif In and Out that was useful with my Kurzweil Rumour. I got the Kurzweil Rumour based on many claims that it had really good reverb/delays/choruses and very good conversion. Those claims did in fact play out for me and I always used the S/Dif out on the Rumour into the S/dif In on the Scarlett. I loved the detail and clarity of the digital signal and was happy I could skip over added and un-neccessary analog stages while enjoying the fidelity and character from my DIY SCA mic preamps, DI's and compressors.
I bought the BlackLion Revolution in order to do the same thing I have been doing. However, I'm having a bit of difficulty getting a signal using this S/Pidf connection. I"m a bit worried right now because, its been a year or so since recording at home, and its coming back to me that I could go into the Scarletts software and set up the clocks, who is master, who is slave, etc... Would know if there is anything inherent in the Blacklion that will stop me from recieving a S/Pdif signal from the output of my Kurzweil Rumour? This is the whole reason I purchased the Blacklion and hope I didn't make some show-stopping oversight.
The Blacklion Revolution seems to have a very scant software control driver and I havent seen any means of either applying or recieving clock signals, internal or external choices.
If anyone can shed any light on this unit I'd be very grateful. I'd really like to find out if I'm overlooking something or, ended up chosing a product that isn't up the the intended task. I just never dreamed it wouldn't be capable of the same routing and clock applications as the old Scarlett 6i6.
thank you very much for your time,
Best,
Phil Donovan
