I purchased an Antelope audio orion studio synergy core as my main audio interface for my studio. All 16 of the outputs go to my Dangerous 2-bus+, and the summed signal from the summing mixer goes to
2 x Neve 542 tape emulators that then go to my A/D input on my interface.
My question do you think I would benefit in terms of clarity and fullness on the a/d conversion if I used an Antelope Pure2 converter? I know the Orion has good a/d and d/a conversion, but would I benefit from getting a dedicated 2 channel mastering converter?
I'm trying to capture the best signal I can when converting back from analog to digital.
I know the Pure2 is somewhat old now, so if you know of a better converter than the pure2 which may benefit me in this situation, it would be very much appreciated.

Not. No matter what you have and what you want: with Antelope stuff the only good move is to sell, never to buy.

I've never had any problems with the interface over the last 1- 2 years. It runs like it should.

I don't really have a stake in this but; given that the Antelope converters are pretty good to begin with how much would you really gain by switching? And if you take that money and compare that investment to other potential investments, does it give you the best return on investment? Those are just thoughts, not a recommendation to reconsider... just thinking out loud..

I love my Antelope Zen Q and never had any issues in over a year of use.
People that don't know what there doing have the problems.
Mostly PC users and there crap Thunderbolt ports.

You make a good point. I was looking for a dedicated converter to record my hardware on the a/d side. It would probably be better if I looked elsewhere, like the RME ADI-2 FS R. The conversion is said to be tlreally good, and you can get them used for about $1600.00

Sooo tired of hearing people crap on antelope, especially cause most of them have never owned a single piece of their gear and just repeat what they read on a forum one time. Ive had the following antelope devices...

You know why i continue to buy antelopes equipment? Cause it works consistently well device after device anthey always sound amazing. I came across this thread wondering the same thing as the OP and of course got nothing but BS advice from someone who probably uses a Behringer UMC1820 or Clarett. If you havent used the equipment you should reframe from giving advice on it, regardless of how much time you have on your hands.

Amen! thank you...its funny how the people who actually have antelope gear, have good things to say about them. Obviously there is always going to be some bad experiences with any product and yes it stings a lot more when its something you pay top dollar for, but it's most likely user error from my experience. And if you havent personally been stung or even tried their products, we can do without your sheeplike insight on the matter. Although it is true about the price drops lol....
