Searched for "Ben Wright Strings VST"..no results. There is a Ben Wright trumpet product, but no strings product I can find.
But here's what I confirmed in this endeavor..there really is no such thing as "disco strings"...strings that "know they are supposed to do disco music". Strings are just instruments. Composers write lines for them for disco songs. "Disco strings" references composition and performance, not specific string articulations such as staccato, marcato, sultasto, tremolo and so forth.
Moreover, the legatos in Disco Strings UDS don't connect smoothly, which is disappointing, and while the strings respond to cc11 (expression), they don't respond to velocity..at all. That's in my view why the product is so inexpensive compared to most other string libraries.
Soundpaint skipped implementing a lot of things.
Articulations like fast up or down glissandos, shorts, and falls can be found in other string libraries like NI Session Strings Pro and East West Hollywood Strings 2, and those products do respond to velocity and legatos connect smoothly. I also have Sample Modeling's Solo and Ensemble strings which allow smoothly connecting legatos
and really fast playing, but also "smart" mono to poly interpretation..play one note, they are legato mono, play two or more notes and it's polyphonic, just as strings actually behave.
So lesson learned..you get what you pay for.
And two, I think I'm done with buying Soundpaint products.
