I am looking for a player with play sound in frontmost player only feature as in quicktime 7 to compare masters.
Note:It will not play the song from the beginning when switching between players.
You could try Foobar2000. I have not tried the mac version, but the windows version has an abx function which does comparison playing that switches the files without restarting from the beginning. https://www.foobar2000.org/mac

You should try Funkyabx site now. The developer just made the option to use local files. No uploading needed:
