Mac Studio, Monterey, external ssd problems

I'm having terrible problems running protools sessions from external ssd thunderbolt drives. I've got a brand new MacStudio and Protools Flex. I've seen elsewhere that Monterey has problems in sleep mode. I've had to disable that. Protools keeps getting errors regarding audio transfer/streaming. I'm having to load sessions onto the system drive to work.

What are the exact error codes? I think Avid is the king of knowing that they have a buggy DAW and therefore usually provide very specific error codes...

I'm not an expert nor am an authority on Pro Tools. I would say your best bet is to record on the system drive and save to external drives. In theory it should be ok to record to an external drive, but it isn't something I would ever do.

No audio transfer/streaming issues with external SSDs on my end.
What errors are you getting and what specific gear are you using?
