Funny I had tried some of this stuff before. Including deleting the plists.

And now I just noticed that I have neither:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
or
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.Bluetooth.XXXXX-XXXX-XXX-XXXX.plist

So they must never have been rebuilt! Just tried safe-mode and they didn't get rebuilt either.
So don't try that fix anyway!

Not sure what mouse you’re using but the Logitech MX3 was life changing for me. Cured my wrist pain and the magnetic scroll wheel is great for DAWs.

Looks nice! But I use a mouse with my left hand...all magic mice and trackpads here...I don't mind the magic tbh.

BTW, I may have solved my mouse/trackpads lag/jitter issues.

Things I did yesterday/today. All multiple times.

sudo pkill bluetoothd

Turn bluetooth on/off.

Remove all bluetooth devices.

Boot into safe-mode.

Log in/out.

Might help someone...

Here's my current solution, I made a button on my streamdeck using "Run OSA Script"

do shell script "pkill bluetoothd" with administrator privileges

It'll then ask you for your password and reset bluetooth...quicker than turning stuff on/off...

I'm currently running Catalina 10.15.7 on MBP 19 i9, would anyone recommend switching to Big Sur or Monterey?

I don't know of any issues using Monterey in the latest version, so at least there should be no big risk in making the change.

Thanks! The main concern is speed improvement, bugs, "main" plugins working smoothly.

My biggest problem in 12.6.1 is the Apogee Control 2 software that is required to run my Duet 2.

Dreadful app this Control 2 version. The longer my iMac is running the more and more my Duet2 becomes sluggish when just changing volume. Eventually after my iMac has been running for say a week all sorts of weird audio problems like no audio playing at all with any music App.

The fix is to restart my iMac.

Looks like Apogee aren’t too interested in updating this version, which is now several versions behind the latest used for current products.

So, I figured out what was causing like 90% of the jank that was happening with my Mac Studio and Monterey: SwitchResX

Just disabled it (daemon, in-app setting) and all is well...actually really, over a week now...not even going to bother uninstalling it tbh (if it's not broken etc. etc.)

(I didn't bother trying to update it, though it was definitely a recent version if not latest....anyway using BetterDisplay instead...way cooler app that does quite a lot more).
