Trouble with UA Apollo x6 - Constantly disconnecting
I'd been using the Apollo x6 for over a year with my 2018 Mac mini and never had any problems. Then a week or so ago, the Apollo and the Mac began disconnecting. Either the Mac won't see the Apollo upon booting, or the units will only stay connected for a short time, requiring a restart to reconnect. Sometimes they will stay connected for as long as 20 minutes; other times less than a minute. Needless to say, this makes getting any actual work done almost impossible.
I've been consulting with the techs at Sweetwater and UA to figure out what's going on. At their suggestions, I've tried a number of things, e.g., switched to new Thunderbolt 3 cables, reinstalled software and firmware, did a hardware reset on the Apollo, did a NVRAM reset on the Mac, cleaned the ports of both units, tried different Thunderbolt 3 ports, and disabled Sleep mode. Now they're suggesting reseating the Thunderbolt option card on the Apollo. I'm awaiting delivery of the right hex wrench to fit the card.
Anyone else have a similar issue?
