MIDI keyboard Thunderbolt?

Hey everyone!

Is there a way to plug a MIDI keyboard into a Thunderbolt port?

The problem is this: one USB port of my MacBook Pro just said goodbye to me

. The other USB port is occupied by the external audio device (MBox 2, Protools LE 8).

Any ideas?

You could use a Thunderbolt Dock:

Which will give you more of all of your ports.

Thanks octactonic, that could work although I just need to connect 1 MIDI device. Do you know of any thunderbolt to USB adapter? A hub would seem a waste to me.

I've already tried with a powered USB hub but Protools cannot "digest" MIDI information when using the same USB connected to the soundcard.

I don't know of a USB to Thunderbolt cable or a midi to Thunderbolt cable.

If you haven’t already, you could try resetting the SMC and the NVRAM/PRAM.

Anyways, I have a good news

! My assertion "protools isn't able to digest MIDI and audio information coming from the same USB port" was simply not true

With a less-cheap powered USB hub everything is working fine, and my external soundcard together with my MIDI keyboard are wired to the same MacBook USB port.
