What a joke. There's plenty available that's better or at the very least, as good. $249 to "upgrade" my Powercore version of VSS3? Puh-leeze. If they GIVE me all of the plugins in native format that I spent quite a few THOUSAND$ on purchasing from them for Powercore... I might THINK about ever doing business with TC Electronics again. Short of that... forget about it. I've long since gotten over needing TC Electronics Powercore plugins.

I never owned a Powercore, but I have a M3000. When they say "VSS3", do they mean reverbs only? No compressors, delays, filters?

Daaaaaaamn looks like Powercore have been disconnected to the real new evolution plugin world. They need to catch up to my view. 250$ to update from one DSP powercore plugin to Native??? speechless

People! Don't get trolled by TC! It says "vss3-native-test-buttons".

I think they are testing the website, and the pricing.

Hey Tui,

Yeah, it's just reverbs. One of thee best in my opinion when they're weren't that many out.
Only reason I still use my TDM versions is to say cpu resources.
They are still incredible reverbs don't get me wrong but, for that price, I don't think anyone will buy them.
I bought my TDM versions back in the day for a lot of $.
Plus, a lot of people feel burnt by TC Electronics since they left everyone high and dry for how many years now and a lot of door stops for Powercore?

Good luck with that TC.... Though I wouldn't mind having my VSS3/DVR2/NonLin Reverbs for Native.

@ M2E , thanks for the explanation.

TC is now owned by Behringer (yeah, I know ) so whatever happens to their IP and products is not in the hands of the original TC crew anymore. Mind you, they really missed the boat, with respect to moving their stuff to software. Very unfortunate.

Perhaps we can buy one of those buttons, for a mere $349?

I'd say Behringer will integrate these someday to their products and price wise it will be a win-win scenario, at least for new customers..

Wow... I loved the vss3 when i had a powercore(sold it), it was a nice alternative to my lexicon. But 350$ ? I would understand if it was a vss4, but this is out of touch with market prices.

Id' be willing to pay a total of 249$ if it included 64-bit native Versions VSS3, DVR2, Non-lin, MD3, UnWrap, Tap Factory, Dynamic EQ and Virus...

...but not PER plugin!

I never owned the PowerCore and was jealous of those who did at the time because I couldn't afford it in those days so the news that they are going Native is exciting to me although somewhat tempered by the price. I do sympathise with others who owned the hardware and were abandoned, but as it stands now I'd probably pay $350.00 for the VSS3 native just to finally have it and satisfy my curiosity.
I do find the lack of info on their site rather odd (formats etc.). I'll wait and see how this shakes out.

I drowned around 9000.- $ in the PowerCore platform (for plugins and hardware). All gone. The TC brand suffered a lot in my home. They should rethink this offering for "early investors".

NativeBundle
Mercury-1
MD-3
Intonator HS
Character (now Plugin Alliance)
Tube*Tech*CL*1B (now crossgraded to some Native versions)
All the Sonnox Plugins (now crossgraded to Native and UAD)
D2 Dsound VL2 (now Audified)
among others...

Of course paid many "crossgrades" as well... of course, TC can send me private offers to relax me.
One solution would be to have coupons for plugins which are doomed... such as Tube-Tech CL 1B, Noveltech Character, Intonator HS... these will never come back from TC...

I'm not sure what I should think, feel and say...

I was just reviewing my TC Account (yes I miraculously found my way into it!) and what TC stuff I "own" that I haven't used in years. There are 2 - PCI Mark II Cards and 10 plugins that I shamefully paid more than three grand for. Sickening.

This thread is bringing back a part of my life I didn't want to remember.....

Exponential Audio - Plug-ins has got some replacement reverbs in that ballpark.

I think I paid 590.- on the TC native bundle back in 200x ...
No investment protection at all.

Let's hope it's just testing us...

Fortunately my Powercore 6000 still runs well in Cubase 8.5 ....

In fact very bizzarly when Steinberg introduced their ASIO Guard thing suddenly my Powercore plugins (using the built in VST Bridge) started working perfectly - after not really working properly for years! Really odd!

Anyway, it means I've been able to stick with Powercore and I still use all the reverbs and the "yet to be beaten" Brickwall Limiter.

If my Powercore goes wrong though I won't be giving TC $1000's to replace them natively as these days we have better options.

The only plugin I would buy again is the Brickwall Limiter.
