ah, i would love to change folder structures as much as you, but i don't know how to do it,
im not even sure its can be done
but im not giving up hope unless Acustica says it cant be done hehe


it got much better with editing the rom file like Davidgary73 teched me in page one of this thread
i just type in what it is first when i change to the HW name like typing in eq first for all the eq`s then all the eq`s appears in alphabetic order

i would type in EQ RND Portico 5033 instead in the rom file
and do the same for all eq`s, when you do that all eq`s will show up in line together instead of being spread with the exception of those who is in folders

same with comps, i write: Comp Summit audio TLA 100A for example and write Comp before the hw name on all my other comps
and they will show up in line too alphabetically

nebula just care about your first letter in you're custom name in the rom file and place them alphabetically based on that

you can do the same with the ones who is in the folders to of course
but they will not appear together with the ones on page one,
but its much better than nothing,
i really hope theres a way to alter folders
that would be the ultimate solution to keep it perfectly organized

im not sure if this helped though, it seems like you have another system for organizing hehe

Thanks for getting back to me. I've done the same as you, editing the dictionary ROM file. It looks pretty good, I even got Nebula setups going... Just wish I could get that last tiny bit of organizing done!

Followed instructions on previous posts
Did the new install and copied Programs and
Vectors to External with their init.n2v & init.n2p
In their respective folders

Guys, I also looking transfer Nebula filet to external HDD and clean my system drive from Nebula libraries, I read all threads here, but before I will try Ii have question:

INIT.N2P and INIT.N2V is very small files, (we are only talking a few megabytes) that needs to stay in Program and vectors folders where nebula is installed

they are the authorization keys for Nebula to work so they are not a nebula lib

if you remove INIT.N2P and INIT.N2V Nebula wont work until you put them back
everything else you can remove from program and Vectors folders and put on a external drive

if you are used to Acquas the auth system are very different

for me this was very confusing to do the first time as i was used to Acqua authorizations hehe

Strange.... my .N2V are vector (sample) files who contains all important data of each.Thesa are also contains each preset/preanp or compressot name and not authorization files. I have not other file types in Vectors folder as only .n2v and this is the biggest 3GB folder. and n2P, yes these are small program files, and my authorization files are with extensions .AUT and .SER

only the specific named INIT.N2P and INIT.N2V needs to stay
if you dont have a INIT.N2P file in your program folder
and INIT.N2V file in your vector folder
something must have changed with a newer update
if they are not there then remove everything

but be sure to double check before you do it
they might not be located at the top in the folders
but somewhere in the middle of your nebula libs

if you remove everything , put them on a external drive and it work, then great
if it don't work , those file mentioned must be in there and need to be put back
to nebula installation location within program and vector folders


everything else n2v and n2p can be removed and put on a external drive
just not he INIT.N2P and INIT.N2V files if you got them

i have some ser and auth files in nebula too, but that is because i have some libs that needed to be authorized before they would work
like the Alex B MFC console, MFeQ and AITB verbs

I´m struggling to get the Alternative Datapath hack working on Win 10, I can´t get N4 to scan the new location I´m pointing at.

Here´s the structure for my N4 Library:

E:\Nebula 4 (here are the main P&V folders)

and then the 3rd party libraries, each with their own P&V folders

E:\Nebula 4\Surge EQ
E:\Nebula 4\HO AYCE
etc....

My edited xml file looks like this:

<DATAPATH>E:\Nebula 4\</DATAPATH>
<ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>E:\Nebula 4\Surge EQ\</ALTERNATIVEDATAPATH>
etc...

The commercial library loads fine, however I can´t get N4 to find Surge EQ (the only 3rd party library I have tried). I have tried deleting everything on the Temp folder, but that didn´t help either. However, copying the programs and vectors to the main Nebula folder seems to work. Any idea of what I´m doing wrong?

Also, I installed both VST2 & 3 versions, but I can´t only see the VST3 on Cubase, even though the VST2 dll is in the correct place. Any idea why this is happening?

It has been mentioned in the main N4 thread I think that Cubase will only see VST3 while both are installed.

Oh no! Sorry guys, complete error on my side! I forgot that Cubase only sees the VST3, and I was editing the VST2 .xml! Now everything is working as it should.

Can someone please explain resample architecture on Nebula? If I working just with 44kHz, and as we know, many presets are in 44, 96 and 192 versions, it makes sense to use 96 or 192 Khz preset with internal Nebula converting to 44Kz? Or If my DAW/system is configured to 44Khz, then no sound difference if I use original 44kHz preset or 192to 44khz with internal Nebula converting?Thanks!

I’ve recently bought nebula 4 from acustica-audio along with alex b console emulations and i’m having a real hard time trying to figure out where to put the vectors and programs - i’ve read through the previous posts - i’m on mac high sierra.
I can’t actually find where the vector snd program folders are located (if i go library/audio/presets/acustica there isn’t anything there.
Do i just open nebula 4 (commercial btw) in daw and go to settings and select the alt data path to say ‘documents’ and say i create a folder called ‘N4 data’ and place the vectors in there with the programs? (so: documents/N4data/3rd party library)and place the vectors and programs and skins there?
so confused lol

Nebula 4 is installed through aquarius app install manager thingy. and if i try to locate the folder of aquarius and go to Nebula 4 i can see the library that was installed via aquarius but i see only zip files; can’t see vectors programs or skins folders anywhere to place the alex b console emulation vectors and programs (3rd party plugs) help! lol

You’ve answered yourself. Just download em and place em in a folder ( better on a secondary SSD ) and in nebula 4 just add the alternative data path and that’s it!

thanks for the pic - not sure why it’s not working for me... i’m on mac high sierra. I copied the vectors and programs to a folder i created in ‘documents’ that i named ‘N4 3rd Party’ - and inside Nebula i’ve added the additional data path to this folder and saved Nebula...i reopen Nebula but can only see the N4 library.
I didn't use the install files (as they weren't doing anything) - i just moved the vectors and programs into a folder.

Programs and Vectors each need their own folder.
Put these to the documents-folder and N4 should find what it needs.

I did read that earlier in this thread, but someone said it didn't matter. Thanks I'll try that!
