Yea, it’s all coming back... same issues here with the login not sticking sometimes, depends on the version... was looking at the few new effects you get with elite being worth it or not... I’ve only used this thing in one tune for a solo and it worked great... freakin plugs.

I think Arturia knows their own limits between how close something gets...and their development costs. I know of 1 synth they looked at and said no. (Or at least not now.) I'm sure there are several others such as IMO a PolyEvolver.

I know very little about the Alesis, but gather it would be a challenge.

My question above was apparently unclear. I wanted to know how Positive Grid Echorex Drum Delay compares, in line with how other emus if known compare (not to each other, not to other emus, but) to the “real hardware Echorec sound” which I am not familiar with.

In retrospect, PG Echorex wasn’t even mentioned before so many may not be familiar with it here, then. Lol! Perhaps I am “barking up the wrong tree” and we should just move on!

Well, considering it only comes with bias elite and to demo is a bit of a journey... probably not too many peeps have ever even heard it.

I like Positive Grid a lot. YMMV. No login issues. $43 from Pro to Elite, yep…worth it to me. Only buys a few amp sims or effects elsewhere at best. And other PG upgrades are usually less then.

Bias FX 2 Elite compared to Pro adds 40 more amps (100 total), 7 more effects (122 total), and 80 more factory presets (210 total). Guitar Match increases from 8 to 20 target guitars and four more New HD racks (8 total). Additionally, Elite comes with the new Fuzz Modeler, Time Modeler, and Harmonizer Modeler, and you get BIAS Pedal Distortion, Delay, Modulation. Click “Compare” under Bias FX2 on the site to see the lists.

For me, PG stuff rocks! However, in the end, it is only a good deal if you like PG and if you feel it is worth it. Good luck!

oVox have a lot of options... that you can avoid entirely. You can just use it as a "normal" vocoder through a midi pattern and fine tune it... Or you can open the entire box and get lost for hours

As usual with waves, it comes with A LOT of presets. I recommend ignoring them at first and just go with the default to get what you're wanting. Then start trying them and be amazed. You can do it with some beer, wine...

Waves Morphoder is the simpler you can get. It's old and everything, but gets the job done fast and easy. I never bought it but demoed and after that jumped to oVox. May buy it someday for the times when just want something simple with no distractions along the way.

There are some free too. Also tried them but were a bit buggy

I upgraded a couple years ago from Pro to Elite, so not positive but I think Bias Pedal Distortion, Delay, Modulation has been included at least since then. It is really fun and in-depth….worth the upgrade price alone to me for as much as it has, if you like pedals.

I think the diff in upgrade offers may also depend on what you own already (expansion packs, Celestion speaker, etc). I recall also passing at first (not ready to buy more then ). They have sales often but many are so-so. It seemed a long time, but eventually got another (same price) good upgrade offer.

Is dirk back from the crusades? Maybe he has some time to fix the broken plug-ins

Yeah, I want Pedals, looks fun. BTW, updated FX2 last night and it is a lot faster now. Wasn't using it for more than 6 months... They really improved it, will give it a chance again. And will definitely upgrade to Elite by BF. Right now I have a lot of tracks to mix and master so won't be using it for a while. Thanks for the input, Mark!

I was just looking at my PA plugin "collection" and realizing how many of them I don't use at all. Probably half or more.

They really must have some marketing chops to make these kinds of sales.

To be fair it's the same with some of the other big brands too. I think "half or less" really applies to most of the plugins I own vs. how many of them I use. Same with guitars, pedals, amps too.

Something a woman in ones life might say sometimes, "How many (X) can you use at the same time, anyway?"

I think it would be funny with these big estate sell offs, like Neil Young, Al Schmitt, or whatever.... to have some "celebrity plugin" licenses that you could buy "used." Like $100 for Waves Q10 or something.

A day or two ago, I grabbed Tantra2 and Eos for $34 with monthly and flash sale vouchers. I haven't had a chance to mess with Tantra yet but Eos sounds REALLY good. I don't have Valhalla so this was a nice affordable way to pick up some of their creator's algorithms. Sounds more realistic than Supermassive and sightly easier to adjust than Waves H-verb. H-verb is still more flexible with it's reverse and early reflection options. Eos as a very nice addition, though.
