I've been having a hard time configuring apollo 8 I/O hardware inserts for my UA 6176 in Digital Performer 11. Is there something that needs to be done in Apollo 8 Console in order to route the I/O signal better. UA 6176 inputs and outputs are not stereo pair; therefore, I am unable to get a RETURN to the DP11 DAW. That being said, in DP11 Hardware Insert plugin I can see the signal being SENT but no RETURN. Could anyone tell me what needs to be done in order to get a RETURN signal in DP11 DAW. Thanks in advance, it would be really appreciated

if you're on a stereo track you need stereo inputs and outputs in the hardware insert plugin. You can make any two ins and outs of an Apollo a stereo pair in the Bundles window in DP. But if you're trying to use the single mono 1176 in the 6176 on a stereo track, you can't. At least not in stereo. Should work fine on mono inserts. Be sure to write down your settings for recall should need to.

Thanks brother for your response. The recorded tracks that I'm trying to compress, using the UA 6176, are mono tracks. In DP11 Hardware insert, I can see the signal being SENT with no issue; but, shows no RETURN. You are correct about "making any two ins and outs of an Apollo a stereo pair in the Bundles window in DP". I will check the DP bundle for stereo pair to see if that's the problem. Thanks a million

can you or any other members suggest on what needs to be done in order to compress my tracks in DP11, using UA 6176 tube compressor as a hardware insert. Currently I am using an Apollo 8 Interface to record my tracks into DP; also, coming out of the Apollo is my "Big Knob" for my monitors. Can anybody help me to configure/route Apollo 8 I/O (ins and outs) hardware inserts in DP (Digital Performer), I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I Finally figure out what the issue was. To configure Apollo's I/O Hardware inserts in Digital Performer is not very complicated, but you have to know how to go about; meaning that the SENDs in DP are Offsets by 2 in Apollos and no one tells me about that. In DP Hardware Insert, if you select 1 for your SEND in the Hardware Insert plugin, the input from your outboard must be connected to output 3 of the Apollos (if your outboard gear is mono), the same principle applies to stereo outboards.
