Lately I've been noticing a weird artifact when I use pitch correction in DP: a kind of smeary, chorus-y sound like a doubling effect. The extent of the artifact seems directly proportional to the amount of pitch shift. It sounds, for all the world, as if the original, uncorrected audio is playing along with the corrected audio. It doesn't happen consistently, and I'm having trouble finding the common thread between the cases where it does happen.

I've been using pitch correction quite a lot since ZTX pitch/stretch was introduced (DP10?), and I'm only just noticing this issue quite recently, i.e. the past few months, which either means I have disastrously oblivious ears, or the issue is new (for me at least) with DP11.

Anyone else running into this?

Pitch correction implies artifacts, since you meed to change pitch wihtout shortening or longer the pitch of the notes. One of the worst is formants that changes and makes you sound sppeded up or down. That can only be adressed with software like melodyne (partially).

Yes, but that’s not the effect I’m hearing. This sounds like two singers singing slightly different pitches. The formants sound more or less normal (I’m talking about shifts of less than a semitone).

Strange, unless you are applying it in a parallel way or use it like a send you shouldnt hear both signals, the corrected and the uncorrected..

I agree, that’s why I’m posting about it.

Definitely no parallel/send type activity going on. Just the one track, soloed and going straight to the output.
