I think arc is great tool to help to reach a perfection. Not only frequency, but also phase and delay issue correction is fine idea. But they didn't made me believe it really works and helps the studio big time. It simply digitally adjust the speaker to the room. But we should adjust room for the speaker right?

Let leave the boom-bah speakers alone.

We all need to master and mix on something accurate and real.

what can you say about S2X now? Does the sound changed? It's way different then old adam hugh? First weeks I couldn't understand if in a good or bad way. But it is a different speaker IMO. What do you think?

Yes we can speculate about how much hyped they are. But IMO this is not hyped.. it's aggressive sounding. There are a lot of details and texture in those speakers so I don't consider them "Bad". Not suiting anyone - yes. But bad? - no. What do you think?

Anghello, all of us need to get the perfect combo of speakers situation an listening position, where phase isues are minor and we have the best sweetspot in the place (nothing to say about a proper treated acoustics), then ARC2 is an awesome tool, I can say it almost had changed my life. I'm listening to close to this thread because I want to change my monitors and here we are talking about someones which interest me, I dream with Event Opals but they are far away at the moment from my budget and, although I don't like so much Adams till now, the other day listened to A77x and they sounded really well to my ear so much than A7x and S1x from my crappy memory :P , so I'm thinking between them and a great deal on a pair of Adam S2.5 which I remember to sound excellent and both pairs are at the same price. Why you died my little Expose's !!!! :(

the medium is unbelieveable on a 2 way monitor !!

Bass : wtf ....now the sub 8 seems useless and they're not breaked !!!

impressed , confident , can't wait to hear them breaked but less less violent , less ear fatiguing than the p11a ....(less agressive high what i mean)

i feeel the amp impact ...they chill no matter the material ...

ok 6 hours break : now i don't hear the monitors but music ...high smoothed out had to boost , low went deeper had to cut lol .....even without arc i'm starting to have some pretty good ...imaging is getting more precise sepcially the up/down (freq) feeling

tried differ,t positions ..they're tall and it's an issue ...had to angle them , but i'm not a fan of that , might have to go isoacoustics or s3x just for that !!!

definitly no as fatiguing listening from kendrik lamar to lil jon to willie nelson and to some lounge (budda bar) stuff ...i understand now why a lot of hifi guyz swear by them , precise but pleasant ...time based effects are crazy as usual to dessern ...

kendrik lamar swimming pool : i hear the strings on hook like i never did ..and so discovered that it's not a one note hit but two (maybe delay at 1/16 or some) ..

4 oclok ...need to go ...so far i'm confident , i get that mid that i was scared to loose (versus the sm9 and s3x) and the high that i love (versus the opal and focal) now i need to break em ...and find a good posistion , i really satrt to think about the s3x for horizontal posistioning but 2 boomer will obvioulsy be too much as already one is GREAT !!

the rattling are freq dependend and less present on infras like 30 but crazy from 35/40 to 60 hz ....

things dissapear with sub filtering at 85hz of course but man why going s2x if a sub is not an option but a must , those handle bass like crazy and goes super loud ....

S2x owners and S1x ..please chec if in you vent you see that kinda white forms ..

I have read in other post that the S2X have rattling issues, it seems to be fixed in the A7X and A8x but not in S2X, but Jezzo, do you still have your sub from the P11? If yes thn use it with the S2X, it will work ok, does not matter if you need to cut the sub bass from the S2X, let them to make their great work in the upper frequencies and the sub works with the lower frequencies.

Rattling speakers are for kids.

Karloff : if you get a monitor that roll off at 55/60 or with a 100 w amp , it's really not something that can happen but the power that those pack is wiked (the impact and speed they have is a gunshot !), i feel the air at 1.60 m easy !!! when at 80 db ...lol you can rumble the flat with it dude ...the thing is that those are definitly not for kids (ala event opal ....lol PA system and iar dryer) but Adams boss should test those babies with some else than classical music !!

i have read a reveiw on them on Computer music (if i'm not wrong) and while the found them superb , they pointed out the ratlling thing but i said to myslef : this must have been fixed !!....

seeing that the vents are the same on the s3xh , i don't see why those s2x don't benefit of them .....this must be an error ...

the thing is that they start to sound so great that a change is making uncofortable ... the next stop is Sm9 or maybe the Opal .... but for exemple the diffrence versus the sm9 isn't 3000 euros !! for real ...anybody with a little mixing talent can make superb thing with those !!

The other option is S3xh if i have the ABSOLUTE waranty Rattling are fixed !!! i will jump on them if they sound at least as good as the S2x

On S3xh we have a medium boomer , and medium aren't handled partially with rubbans witch is i think what i love and makes them superb on the S2x !!

Yep the Sr7 must be great , i might go to Jukebox and test rock and and SR 7 but to tell you the truth i dig what i hear : P11A with more precision , natural , less fatigue , louder , and medium medium mediums ...

I could keep testing all brands but what i have is reaching my needs ....i need extra precision on transient and depth as well as beatyfull highs ....

we can discuss mediums and all ..but i have my gen's to switch for the mids rumble ....on small speaker .

Contact Adam to see if is there any solution to the rattling. If not .... plan B with the sub or keep it trying with other brands (the boring solution). In my experience Opals don't have any rattling or if you want to try s3x, they are very recognized and have very good specs (only take in mind the dimensions and the power of these monsters for your room).

yep opal are really atractive for the perf/price ratio ....but i heard way more QC control stories (exept rattling lol .the vertical long event are smart ) , i do think those small vent are great for not so powerfull speaker .........for real ...and nobody have those in stock ...

The only one i could take withoit listening (re listenning) is the KH 300/310

The most probable will be S3xh ....the s2x at high volume is handle by room ..so s3xh and low will chill and will be for sure a great tools on a future bigger spot ...i continue to break em and test with sub tonight or tomorw ....i'l keep posting ...will try also to post acoustics mesurement ....

That's not a rattling issue, that's a sounds like delivery guy drop kicked the monitor 50 feet into the air onto concrete issue. Totally unacceptable, I would definitely get that replaced. And if the replacement also sounded as bad, I would look elsewhere!

i was exctly thinking about that ...the distributor took care of me and tole me that it will be sent dierctly form adam , the problem is then when it came in France , it's handle by regular postal service , in 93 zip code , understand here the worst postal service on earth ...., both doing it ...my question is are you talking cabinet issue ? i clearly hear the noise located on the vent and accentuated when i put my hand near (like to close it)....

If both speakers are rattling chances are it's the port design

why don't you try to close the port with some (acoustic) foam?
