FYI, we recently announced that we have an upgrade to improve the shielding and overall noise in the REQ and have offered current users the upgrade for parts only cost. In order for you to upgrade with as little down time as possible, I have made available one or two sets of cards that will be on rotation, this means you can swap the cards yourself and return the old ones to us which we will upgrade, test and send onto the next person. Only catch is you might have to join a queue for this. You know where to find me!

Which one did you sell and what did you keep, if you don't mind me asking?

I have the new cards on my REQ, noise is much lower and that brings the REQ at full potential

T racks is much more difficult to use that REQ 2.2. With T racks you can destroy all, with REQ, everything gets better going through this box. I'm sorry to say, this box is so magic and maybe not for experienced ME.

Not that this matters but all I can say is I brought the Buzz down to McNares room at Masterdisk and we shot it out against all the GOD mastering EQ's out there. Read the review I did in Tape-Op

When I got home I sold my beloved Pultecs and bought the Buzz.

I suggest everyone just try the equipment they are interested in and by what floats YOUR boat.

Oh and as for reviews being biased... f*ck that, Tape-Op doesn't pay you for a review or for any article you write so the is NO INFLUENCE from the magazine. I always point out the plus and minus in a review or try to... as do most of the writers that I personally know.

i get my req 2.2 today. wow, so many possibilities to check out!
most eq's i catch in a few hours, the req need more traning.

It is my last EQ added and together with solid state IBIS and tube DW Fearn, it rounds analogue equalising pefectly.
Totally happy with sound in all respects and Buzz is fantastic company.

Fantastic eq, you can shape many different sounds with the various Q curves. You can boost beautiful treble without sounding harsh, I discover new possibilities every weeks....

do you try to use the bell at 20k (with more or less broad bandwith)? sweet!
i start to like saturation an 1 or 2 sometimes, give a nice bottom and a gentle glue

Updating PSU, updating cards and changing an Elma switch Buzz New Zealand simply sent me their new latest unit - a big improvement.

i was in contact with tim for a update of the cards an the supply, i use my req at the moment with a 220 to 110v converter, its better like this.

just wanted to share that i changed the knob colors on my buzz req 2.2 and i'm very happy with it. i found this much more practical, since you visually better find the bands that belong together. i'm still very addicted to that EQ!

I'm also very addicted to this Eq... allthrough I have also the Soma. Two different beasts.
The Buzz is so sweet sounding. I love it. When I got the Soma, I have tought that I should resell the Buzz... and finally I couldn't. I was right because it's allways on on 90% of the masters
Karumba can you let me where you get the knobs? I feel this could be very helpful indeed .

i've bought them from Online-Shop for daka-ware knobs, trafos, shielding sheets, inductors, frontpanels, iec-jacks and more.

Karumba... nice and simple insert switcher, is it custom built?
