I searched and produced hits on Google, but it looks like most links are expired. If not free, what is the best value? I'm looking to get something with the Rhodes, pianos, synths, sequences, pads, strings, and stuff like the 808.

yup, Mr. Ray rocks. comes with several other keys, too.

I used Mr. Ray until I got Velvet. MDA's ePiano is also pretty good.

MDA Epiano - very rare stuff, but sometimes isn't bad for accompaniment tracks. I finded couple free soundfont banks, that was good too: jRhodes in several variants (http://learjeff.net/sf/sf.html) and mk_1_rhodes.sf2 (http://www.sf2midi.com/soundfonts/fi...-sf2-2549.html).
Mr.Ray is physical model VSTi (like Logic's EVP-88), but it's mono and for me not always suited to the place.

Check out the sounds in SampleTank FREE. Pretty sure it'll cover the Rhodes sounds your looking for.

I might be missing something here, but Mr. Ray's Free Rhodes plugin requires a mandatory donation in order for the user to recieve the authentication key.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is not free lol.

I do not mind purchasing, but I am not interested in waiting 48 hrs for the key after paying. I have very little time at an actual desktop after work and would rather spend the time creating, if possible. Amplitube looks heavy duty and I'm considering it. I downloaded the free one.

What else is out there that you guys like to use?

Not free but almost.
I got it and im not even a Calkwalk software user.
No problems, no catch.

Mr Ray is free, mine just has a nag screen when you start the program - it goes away. when you buy the key, you also get a bunch of other synths too - good stuff.

If you are a Logic user the EVP88 which comes with it is pretty cool in my opinion.
