Hello, i own two Krk Ergo. The first i own from 2 yrs and is at my recording studio. It works very well with my Adam P33A, i get good focused bass and mid-low and my mixes get better with it.
The second box i've bought used a week ago. I've installed in my home where i have a little personal studio. Here i use VXT4 as monitor and i know them very well. After installed the ergo, i made the calibration that went ok, but when i played some music i noticed that the ergo correct the sound ripping completely off the low end - i mean till 100hz circa - like no correction, but like a strong low cut. The other strange thing is, if i use the global mode instead of focus, the low end come back a lot and in this mode is more like a correction; bypassing the ergo it seems better at the end, cause i've learned with my first ergo "how" it corrects the low freq, and as you know it not cut the low freq but i could say it "lighten" the low zone, ending with a more focused kick and bass.

I've tryed to recalibrate a lot of time but it's always the same. The correction score is always around 50 (it seems a lot to me, my room isn't that bad).
I've also tryed to use the cal mic from the first ergo i have just thinking the mic was blown but nothing changed, same results.
I've wrote to Krk (via Gibson, it seems they own the brand) some days ago but no response yet. I'm really surprised....don't say "maybe your room have too much low freq" cause i've mixed a lot of thing here and i know very well how it sounds; also i've lot of mixes from my recording studio and it's pretty evident the ergo is cutting the bass A LOT. The VXT4 are now like my auratone.....what can i do?

Nope. I checked out but is in A - B mode. Also tryed to switch in 2.1 mode setting crossoover freq at minimum (40hz) but it's still the same.

I just got my first 100 score when redoing room cal. Usually it maxed at 99 or 98. I may have run room cal a 100 times. A lot of monitors.
The fact that you are only geeting to 50 is weird. Mine starts at 55 after the first two measurements, every time. Try another cable or your other Ergo.
Also check the firmware/software. There are several versions listed now.
If it is this Ergo, try the firmware updater, and it still fouled up call KRK customer service. I had good luck with a replacement when I tried to roll back the firmware. Killed it completely. They replaced it, surprisingly. This was Stanton, not Gibson. But Gibson had new software and firmware out real fast after buying Stanton.

No, with "50" i meant the correction value that ergo used after calibration (wich you can see in "info" on ergo cal app), and it's the amount of correction used (i read that a value >30 is just a lot of correction). The calibration knowledge was always about 98-100% with 5-6 point calibration.

I just bought a used Ergo off eBay, and it seems to all be in good order. My gear setup is: iMac 2010 model, Logic 9, Yamaha HS80M monitors, Roland Quad Capture DAC, and now the KRK Ergo.

Unfortunately, I am getting no joy as yet. There are three main areas of failure with the unit.

1) it gets stuck in "clearing measurement memory" and the only thing you can do is cancel
2) it brings up the error "fault. signal timeout" and you have to re-test
3) it brings up the error "fault. clipping" and you have to re-test

This is all extremely frustrating!

Check the firmware and software. Is your 2010 MacBook 32 or 64 bit? Make sure you have installed the correct software. Also look at the firmware to make sure this is correct. The proper firmware is the 1.51 version. The software is 1.24.
I had an issue like this when my Mini died. Someone lent an older Mini while the motherboard was fixed. It did the same, and then I tried rolling back the firmware. It never worked again after the firmware was changed.
Luck was they replaced for free.

Hi, It has been a little while since I have used the Ergo & tried to update the firmware so I can use it on my newer pc, but the Ergo's Power/Firewire light remains on Red. I am trying to update firmware on an old pc 32Bit as per instructions, but computer will not recognize unit. Any advice ? Thanks

Always had problems with KRK Ergo, sadly instead returning it I trusted KRK to fix their drivers/software compatibility with OSX but never been stable (device not always recognised, device stops working all of a sudden, sound goes all distorted) went from promise of firmware fixes to the next... so I was stuck with a not stable product which now they have discontinued (they washed their hands of it)

I will never buy a KRK product of any type again, they are not serious enough with their products this has been my experience with ERGO

Will eventually upgrade to new MAC and eventually new OSX and with KRK running away from ERGO I don't know if it will work any more at all ( no further drivers/firmware updates?)

Hi. I purshased an Ergo through Ebay and i have now exactly the same problem than Mat Taylor. I'm trying to use it since three days on different computers, and each time i have the same problems than listed above. KRK doesn't answe my requests for help.

Hello, I have two big problems with this device and i would be glad to hear some advices.

1) I have read that KRK Ergo can work up to 192 khz, but in control panel there is max 96khz listed. I can't use higher than 96 khz.
2) I have lot of disconnecting issue when i try to change sample rate. This happens also in foobar with asio output.

I have Thinkpad W510 with small firewire connector, also tried texas instruments firewire card in express slot to have big firewire connector.
