Looking at a pair of LDC to add to the mic cabinet. Will be used in both a live and studio setting in a variety of uses, including drum overheads, acoustic guitar, etc. I'm leaning towards the MC740 but know they are older. Spend someone else's money. What'd you buy and why?
I would strongly strongly recommend the Beyer, because it is a great sounding microphone, and partly because it -is- older and designed by actual microphone engineers. Beyer supports their products and can be expected to do so in the future.
