Hi,
(I did search the forums first, but after reading about 20 posts, still no solution, so...

)
On my Mackie 1402 VLZ4, the "Tape In" is the only input I have left to plug my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen outputs. With Cubase master output set to 0dB, Windows 10 "Focusrite" level at 100%, Scarlett monitor knob at maximum, the level from the 2i2 line outputs is just a bit too low to comfortably mix (on the Mackie) with the hardware synths and drum machines. Should I get some kind of preamp or DI, or is there something else I can do? the Mackie "Tape In" has no gain control.
Specs and extract from manual:
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen - Maximum Output Level (0 dBFS) Balanced Line/TRS Outputs: +10 dBu
Mackie 1402 VLZ4 - Tape In maximum level 16dB - "Tape In: These RCA jacks are designed to work with semipro as well as pro recorders. To compensate for typically low levels, signals coming in here will be automatically boosted by 6dB."
