I recently purchased a Mad Katz Rat 8+ computer mouse. It's an outstanding gaming mouse that's very customizable. Although it was a bit pricey, I'm really loving it. Well worth it IMHO.
Anyway, the mouse scroll wheel started squeaking when being turned. I didn't want to go through the hassle of an exchange so I just grinned and beared it. After a week or so, the squeaking noise began getting on my nerves!
I watched some YouTube videos on a possible fix and all of them involved taking the mouse apart and lubricating the scroll wheel fixture.
I didn't want to take a chance in damaging the mouse during disassembly.
I then took a can of WD-40 White Lithium grease and sprayed two light squirts into either side of the scroll wheel assembly without having to take the mouse apart. I then used Endust for Electronics to wipe any excess grease.
Now the mouse scroll wheel is buttery smooth and no more squeaking!
