Approximately 20 years ago I had PRK eye surgery to correct my vision. The results were miraculous and it felt soooo awesome when I took my glasses and threw them into the trash can!
Sadly one of the disadvantages of the surgery was that the eyes become dry and require moisturizing eyedrop's throughout the day. We were all warned regarding the side effects and were told that eyedrops would become our best friend.
Anyway, lately my eyes felt so dry at night that I was using drops every 5 minutes. I then remembered one of the hacks my ophthalmologist had told me.
I took a clean washcloth and soaked it under running hot water from the faucet and applied it to my closed eyes as warm/hot compresses. Everytime the washcloth became cool. I repeated the process for each eye for 3 - 5 minutes. The results were amazing! I felt immediate relief and did not require any eyedrops for the rest of the evening.
Sometimes the tear ducts can become clogged from eye secretions and the hot compresses open them up producing soothing relief!
