I just got myself Gadget. I'm trying to do the ableton export to dropbox, but it doesn't work. The midifile export to dropbox works though. I'm on the latest iOS version. Anyone experiencing this problem as well?

Smaller files seem to work better than larger files. This wasn't always the case. Maybe a recent update broke something. Report it to Korg.com so they're aware and can fix it.

Thanks miscend. @ robotunes ;It turned out to be the Link setting. When Link is on in Gadget it won't export, when it's off it does.

such a shame it cannot sequence outboard gears as it should. korg USA actually encourage to use modstep to sequence the minilogue and that its pretty weird to me.

certainly, gadget was develloped with touch screen UI in mind and I really wish they don't change this, the combinaison with an ipad is gorgeous but the most interesting things are audio recording and perhaps what should be an mpc style sampler for ios version too,

for classic DAW users, korg will offer plugins version of every existing gadget wich still can be very Usefull i think.

More likely mouse/trackpad click/touch-and-drag. I can live with that. If the UI isn't insane and the port offers good sound quality then this is awesome news!

Interesting that this will be Mac only given the MS Surface. Perhaps the iOS nature of the original is lending itself to this decision. The cross-device nature is uncannily cool. This new product does render the Save to Live set functionality a bit watered down as it would appear now it could be shared with any host that's running the AU.

Furthermore, not only Audio can be swapped, but MIDI too so it would seem.

Only a tiny fraction of Windows machines are Surfaces or Surface-types. (Microsoft's sales are apparently so low they won't even reveal them, though according to IDC, iPad Pros alone [not including the mini or the Air] outsold the entire Microsoft Surface family.)

It's far more likely to see a port to Windows VST, just for the largest possible market. I can see them not wanting to invest resources on what is currently a niche, when they sell so well on iOS.

Given that the development tools for the Mac are exactly the same as iOS. I'm guessing making a Mac version was just as simple as compiling a new build in Xcode.

Gadget is quite similar in concept to older versions of Reason and Rebirth. So I'm sure the amount of clicking will not be a workflow killer. And hopefully they will support the touch bar for turning knobs etc.

Sadly that report from Canalys was not only dated 8 months ago (and based on the same time period as the link I provided!) but based on its tracking sales channels and does not include the vast sales through Apple Stores, thus it is terribly skewed, not to mention that it only looks at a single country.

You missed the point entirely, reports are total nonsense and one can always be found to counter any other.
MS Surface isn't selling because the price is ridiculous and most of the software on Windows is total crap using touch, it is a much better device than the iPad.

IDC worldwide data has not been proved particularly erroneous - or do you have proof to the contrary? By contrast the UK-only quarterly report from Canalys - which indeed had bata data - also only placed Windows and iOS tablets around 150,000 apart in sales (and that's without looking at Apple Store sales). Simply contrasting my report with a bad report and later saying 'they're both bad' is erroneous.

We do have SEC-reported sales by Apple of over $23 billion for iPads alone in the 9/15-9/16 year. (Xmas quarterly earning to be reported at the end of the month.) By contrast, according to Microsoft's official numbers, Surface revenue came in at $926 million.

My original point remains true, no matter what zealots want to believe: only a tiny fraction of Windows machines are Surfaces or Surface-types, and all reports of sales have them as a small fraction of iPad sales.

I'm interested in the Mac pricing, and the in-app pricing. Gadget for iOS is currently $39.99 (though it was half-price last year for a week around July 4th and a week around Thanksgiving). That's just the base app, but buying all the extra in-app iOS Gadget purchases would probably total another $100.

I only have gadget le at the moment been thinking about upgrading but I don't really use my iPad that much , a X over increases my interest .
interested to know how much it will cost too, if they will do a bundled deal , if there will be discount or even free update for current users

I don't know of any iOS dev who offers any kind of deal to buyers of their Mac software. In fact, I don't believe there is any real way for devs to determine who uses their iOS apps because Apple doesn't give devs personal data on users.

Apple knows what apps you have access to. They do not provide AppleID info to the developer, only more general app analytics like app version, iOS version, and retention. Apple does let iOS devs create discounts in the form of App Bundles, but those are iOS only, not cross-platform.

What comes with it? Right now the iOS version is $40 and the top five in-app purchases total another $65, so double for the Mac app could be worth it if it had some good included add-ons. According to what I've skimmed the Mac version comes 30 plugins - I guess it really depends on what those plugins do (and how well they do it).

Seems overall like they're aiming it as a type of Reason competitor, right in the middle of the price-level between Reason and Reason Esssentials. They've got their own Reason-like Korg Software Store now too...
