Really enjoying all of the studio anecdotes and little details of how it was actually recorded.
Can anyone recommend any similiar books on music? Or any music books for that matter
There is a thread that discusses peoples favorite music books. I do not recall the title of the thread but a search would probably get you to it.
There are so many books in this genre out theere that are worth reading.
My favories are:
"Recording The Beatles" and "Bill Graham Presents".
RTB covers the equipment they used and often goes into some detail about how certain songs were recorded. It is expensive but well worth the money. It is hard to get and there are folks waiting for the next release of the book which apparently will include updates.
Bill Graham Presents covers the life of Concert promoter Bill Graham. It covers his escape from **** occupied Europe, the Fillmore West and Fillmore East and the rest of his career. It is all done with quotes - there is no narrative. If you grew up in the 60's and 70's, it is a fascinating read.
