He's got a blue fighting stripe under his eye...and kind of a blue head. They like fresh shrimp, flakes, meaty pellets, etc.
Nice , I had 2 cichlids years back , I got them off my mate , who had an Oscar and this blue cichlid ,which was maybe a convict , and a few other fish , anyway , one day he’s cleaning his tank out , which admittedly could get pretty dirty , and he started to see some baby fish come through the hose , there where loads , so he stuck em back in the tank , and I think in the end 10 survived . God knows how the Oscar and the convict bred , but they were the only two in there that could of.
I took 2 , they were purple with faded blackish lines , one was a lot bigger , so I assume 1 male and female .
They were pretty violent , they kept chasing my other fish, and ate my tiger barbs , I had to separate them and the only fish I kept with them was a leopard pleco that was about a foot long , I had that since he was a few inches.
They were pretty active , always making nests , by sucking up the gravel and spitting it out elsewhere , the first time they did it I noticed it because I could hear the gravel against the glass.
Oh and one time I brought a log decoration and within half an hour the big one had got itself stuck in the hole , had to smash it with a hammer , to free it , pmsl.
Haven’t got any fish atm , as I had to move , but I’m considering getting another tank
Had a arowana once too , only a small one , that was a cool fish , I used to feed it live crickets, and it would snatch them off the top of the water
